Rachel Green? She's not even in the top 3 Friends characters!I didn't think Edward Scissorhands was that popular at the time never mind good enough to make a top ten a decade later.I think Homer will walk this but I'm voting for Big Tony.

The Joker over Batman? Weird. Anyway, voted for Carrie. Homer is cool, but I think he got kinda overexposed when they made him the main character of Simpsons. I liked him more when they didn't emphasize his dumbness and gluttony so much.

It's Heath Ledger's Joker in particular, which is WAAAAAY better than Christian Bale's Batman.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 2 June 2010 10:14 (thirteen years ago) link
I was happy for Homer's character to come forward a bit from the first couple of series but I agree he ended up far too prominent - probably because there wasn't as much mileage in Bart as the main character.
Bad guys are always way more interesting and charismatic than Batman (in film, at least) and Ledger's Joker was very recent and highly acclaimed so I can understand him beating Batman here.

I don't remember exactly where House fell in the list (I want to say somewhere in the 40s), but he should've been higher. In fact, most of the list is more interesting outside of the top 10.
My heart wants to vote Ledger's Joker, because it's one of my favorite performances ever, but my head knows that Homer Simpson was rightly positioned at #1.

Rachel Green? She's not even in the top 3 Friends characters!
Was going to say this about Buffy, possibly not even top 10.

WAAAAAY better than Christian Bale's Batman
I should clarify that I actually like Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne. It's his Batman that sucks out loud.

there's also some t0tal randomness:
43. Cal Stephanides from Middlesex
i mean, im aware of the novel, but this is kind of obscure for a list that puts rachel from friends in the top ten

93. Game Boys: Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series; Kratos from the God of War series; and Niko Bellic from Grand Theft Auto IV

I think some of these choices are great, particularly:96. Bernie Mac from The Bernie Mac Show84. Dr. Gregory House from House, M.D.82. Tracy Flick from Election76. Tyler Durden from Fight Club75. David Brent from The Office (original version)56. Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mothe51. Omar Little from The Wire39. Gob Bluth from Arrested Development34. Cher from Clueless18. Sue Sylvester from Glee14. Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski from The Big Lebowski4. Tony Soprano from The Sopranos
Characters, who in my mind, totally nailed ways of being / personalities in really interesting or innovative ways. A lot of their other choices seem really bland to me.
