I just want to make sure I understand where you're coming from. You're saying that the Mr. Zone 6 mixtape is the 2010 equivalent to, say, Biggie's Life After Death how? Its status as the best/most celebrated/most popular rap album among true hip-hop heads? Rap critics? Casual rap fans? The populace?

there are probably about as many really huge rappers/rap albums that practically everyone in America is familiar with now as there were in 1994 or whatever. Biggie was one of that handful then, Gucci isn't one of that handful now imo.

Al as an east coast dude this may shock and amaze but biggie wasn't even close to as big a deal as like pac and bone thugs. I can tell u right now, in chicago, gucci is a pop star, and easily on par w big's significance circa ready to die. No he's not at 'benjamins' level ubiquity but imo fukk u for yr grandstanding ringtone cru judge & jury 'evenhanded' posturing itt

i definitely agree that in 94-95 Pac and Bone Thugs had overall a bigger presence, it even seemed that way on the east coast. but that doesn't mean anything. Gucci's just not that big. yet, anyway.

i will give Gucci a lot of credit in that the kind of grassroots success he's had without a lot of media/industry kingmakers helping him along is in some ways more impressive and meaningful than the popularity currently enjoyed by the hollowed out husks that used to be Jay, Kanye, Wayne, etc...but that still doesn't mean he IS more popular/significant/etc. than those guys.

i mean it's totally fair to say Gucci is the biggest non-Canadian non-sucks-compared-to-his-old-records rapper out right now, but you can't just pretend those caveats don't exist and say outright he's the biggest rapper in the world in 2010
