- Suikoden I or V, the only reason I nom'd two was because it was better than V only slightly...
- Dwarf Fortress!
- Street Fighter III Third Strike
- MASTER OF ORION 2
- Front Mission
- PAC-MAN C.E.?!
- MGS2 or 3, take yr pick
- IKA-FUCKING-RUGA... wow... Mars Matrix is nom'd but not Ikaruga. Mental.
- jagged alliance 2
- fucking... x-com enemy unknown
i'm sure i can think of more, but that's the top of my head! I dunno if i can find 30 games in there that are in my real-life top 150.

castlevania: dawn of sorrow, i liked it more than sotn, and probably enough to have put it up there.
i'da possibly voted for a SNES bomberman title, unsure which though.
i wouldn't have voted for Ecco but someone on the other thread mentioned it... fair play to them.
i liked sonic 2 more than 1.
n+!!! so amazingly good it is in my top 30 absolutely, possibly my top 20 or even 10!

I'm shocked to find out that different people like different things.

NV are you trying to zing me? i can't tell I'm just bummed about the nomination process denying a bunch of my near-faves.

N is amazing! DROD is amazing. (haha tho both kinda suffer for me from that finishing them was among my proudest achievements and then they brought out more levels, making the game i played & loved seem retroactively incomplete?)
Is dwarf fortress actually enjoyable? It just sounds *so* austere.
― Gravel Puzzleworth, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:00 (sixteen years ago) link
Dwarf Fortress is... well, I've been playing it a lot recently, and I don't particularly like roguelikes. It's just really severe getting into the UI. I wouldn't normally tackle that, but I was reading an awesome story about it (google boatmurdered) and decided to attack it... really, it's a lo-fi Sims game with dwarves and crossbows and shit. I don't know why, but I am loving it... even if most of my joy comes from watching the world builder, and picking a place ot make my little home.

i never played n+, but it looks like a DS version is coming out in a couple weeks?
― Jordan, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:03 (sixteen years ago) link
i think it was delayed until july, and furthermore i... well i guess i'll just say i'm sitting on some knowledge that the ds/psp por+s aren't exactly up to the same high standards as the 360 por+.
― Will M., Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:10 (sixteen years ago) link
I think it would be even harder to play on those smaller screens (especially on the ds)
― Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:13 (sixteen years ago) link
jesus i forgot to nominate Joust or Outzone, I would've put either above my initial nom for RType

Counter Strike.

and Neverwinter Nights.

^^^^^^^ oh yeah, duh
― HI DERE, Friday, 4 April 2008 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link
I don't think Planescape even made my top 30. Neverwinter might've done, but there's something really grindy and on rails about all the Black Isle rpgs. I play 'em, but I don't heart 'em like Morrowind or Eye of the Beholder.

I say NWN more for its modability, toolset, online play, faithfulness to D&D and its staying power rather than for the Offical Campaign that you play right out of the box. This game was fucking built to last like no other.
― g-kit, Friday, 4 April 2008 16:40 (sixteen years ago) link
OK I get that.
Can't believe nobody nommed Mario Teaches Typing.

Psssht, no way. Mavis Beacon forever, baby.
― Doctor Casino, Friday, 4 April 2008 21:48 (sixteen years ago) link
NWN would have made my real Top 30. So would Shining Force II and SFII: Turbo. Others I probably would have voted for: Alone in the Dark Adventure Island Sega Tennis 2K2

I rly wish I had nominated SimCity, it is one of my enduring games. But I had to pick one from each decade and I picked the Sims, and anyway I would've preferred SC4 over SC2000 which would have meant not voting for Oblivion and ARGH.
