I have never been to Birmingham's baseball stadium but I have been to the Qwurph and Candlestick.

is "the Qwurph" an actual thing - or are you just mashing the keyboard now?

Been to Olympic Stadium, Candlestick, Fenway...also the Launching Pad, but it wasn't so historic as I recall. If I weren't buried in work, I'd drive to Bham this Sunday and try to sneak in with the SABR tour group. I'd be the one with a "HI MY NAME IS STEVE SHASTA, ASK ME ABOUT MY UNCLE MORBS" nametag.

the Qwurph was the Padres' stadium pre-Petco. It was originally named Jack Murphy (aka "the Murph") but then in the age of corporate sponsorship, it was deemed Quaalcom Stadium. you can figure out the rest.

Rickwood is great; I recommend a visit.

I fielded a ball cleanly at short. And Bob Veale, the '60s Pirate flamethrower, showed up.

btw, RIP Candlestick. Saw my only game there in '98 -- Will Clark played first for Texas, and it got COLD in the 7th.
