The chicks are there for the beer. They'll drink a few more, then go out to the bar, where they will procede to get fucktastically wasted, possibly get into a fight with other girls at the bar, leave bar for pizza, have a slice that is, undoubtedly "the best pizza evar omigod," return to campus, barf on statue of college-founder, get into dorm room, barf in bed, pass out in barfy bed.

Maybe he is the pity case roommate?

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:51 (fourteen years ago) link

looks like a pillow, a mostly empty laundry bag, or a piece of clothing haphazardly shoved un the bed. xpost

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:51 (fourteen years ago) link

it's one of those squishy pillows.
did not crop.

August, first few weeks of school, smoking a bowl in some dude's dorm room. This might have very well been my room-mate freshman year.

Jena (JenaP), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:51 (fourteen years ago) link

WE HAVE ESTABLISHED IT IS NOT A DORM

RoxyMuzak© (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:52 (fourteen years ago) link

Maybe a sleeping bag in a stuff sack? xpost

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:54 (fourteen years ago) link

Jon, why are the girls wearing jackets in the summer? Wayne's even layered up.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:54 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't think the grey thing is the telly - the cable goes to the black thing and that's probably a speaker.

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:54 (fourteen years ago) link

good call on the bit of sun on arms, etc -- the AC in window did not convince me, since people like this tend to just keep the AC in the window at all times regardless of season

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:54 (fourteen years ago) link

Lots of dorms, particularly in the American South, have those AC units.

Jena (JenaP), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:54 (fourteen years ago) link

Unless he's going to cobbled-dorm U, that bed belongs in a house/apartment.

Dave will do (dave225.3), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:55 (fourteen years ago) link

I'd still say it's a shared flat, and the girls are maybe friends of the guys flatmate (who's possibly the one who took the pic). Don't you have shared flats in the US?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:56 (fourteen years ago) link

PP3, it is nighttime? Maybe early fall?

Maybe the grey thing is a speaker on the side of the telly. anyone want to wager a guess at the length of the S/VHS cables?

xpost, Tuomas otm but unintentionally funny

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:57 (fourteen years ago) link

Jenna Bush is there, but not in the picture.

GUYS

The girls just want to play some fucking Madden

This isn't so difficult!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:57 (fourteen years ago) link

Is that brownish-pink thing in front of the TV an action figure? Can someone zoom like on 24? Both girls are wearing strappy tops underneath jackets, so I'm agreeing with the theory that they're planning on going to another party/bar after this.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:58 (fourteen years ago) link

I am still pulling for shared apartment (or flat, whichever), but still in college.

Girls there for the pre-party - beer and/or smoke
Dude has a LOT of video games.
Courses do not look all that tough - books kind of thin.

Athlete girl's side-boob is hot.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:58 (fourteen years ago) link

it's a remarkably tidy room, actually.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link

Is he wearing a non-official Hooters T-shirt?

Or do the designs change every year? (possible date to be found out this way?) Does the text below the logo say something about a specific restaurant?

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link

Ally,

I'm sorry if I was harsh earlier. You obviously rock. I'm sorry Pete and I never had you over to play video games and drink cheap beer.

Love,
Andy

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link

does this guy have a PAPER BAG covering one of his books? look at it closely!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (fourteen years ago) link

pinkish brown thing (previously referred to as a bow) = speaker wire

Dave will do (dave225.3), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (fourteen years ago) link

I think it might say "King of Prussia, PA" on the shirt, underneath the owl.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (fourteen years ago) link

Its from the King of Prussia Hooters!

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (fourteen years ago) link

Roxy, where'd you get this picture?

Laura H. (laurah), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:01 (fourteen years ago) link

ooh, Hooters idea is a good idea... maybe someone could email Hooters and ask about it?

Another thing that is bothering me is the sheer NUMBER of textbooks. How many classes is typical to be taking at once. 4 was the norm at my school.

omg xpost

Andy, I can still come by! I didn't move to another planet! Or y'all can come by, whenever. Haha and we can maybe roffle at my old apt. The good days.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

Maybe Wayne is trying to impress the chicks.

Jena (JenaP), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

guy DEFINITELY has a paper-bag book cover!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

Jon, there can be multiple books for each class. They don't have to all be textbooks. You would know this if you had been a liberal arts major. ;-)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

Wasn't there someone on ILM who was half deaf with tinnitus? (runs away)

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

jaymc, I had multiple textbooks for most of my upper level classes. :D :D

Anyway, what is the black box between the grey thing (TV) and the stack of books?

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:05 (fourteen years ago) link

I think there's two mini-speakers there.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:06 (fourteen years ago) link

Sounds good, Ally.

On another note, a friend of mine just bought a house and the downstairs bathroom was PLASTERED - floor to ceiling, all four walls - with pictures the former owner's son stole from the Fotomat where he used to work. Creepy creepy.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:06 (fourteen years ago) link

Roxy, was this linked from a page on GIS?

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:06 (fourteen years ago) link

Weed is, without a doubt, the only thing i can think of that would have made this situation possible.

deej.. (deej..), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

it's got to be either a shared apartment or a dorm - at my school some of the upperclasmen dorms looked just like this: crappy furniture, shitty brown insitutional rug...

and his room is completely packed with shit - so it's some sort of shared living situation.

i bet he's a mechanical or electrical engineering student.

AaronK (AaronK), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

Jena (JenaP), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

I think Roxy is holding out on us...

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

what is GIS?

you don't need coats everywhere in the US, even during winter.

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

some of the books have protective covers made of brown paper bags on them.

also, just because they're not fat doesnt mean they arent tough, obv.
