I think you've just sweetened the deal, more than I am willing to.

You folk are being funny, again, on this thread. Congratulations.

Lara, it was my next editor who scotched the claims.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 25 October 2004 16:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I have just phoned the place we were going to go last month for dinner and they again don't have a table for 8 for Saturday night. Any suggestions where else we could try?

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 08:33 (nineteen years ago) link

I am in glasgow on nov. 2nd, I will probably be available 3-5pm. it's a small window.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 09:46 (nineteen years ago) link

The Konaki on Sauchiehall Street is nice, and has the advantage of being very near my house. It is Greek, but no plate-smashing I don't think. I went last Saturday night and it wasn't that busy.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:13 (nineteen years ago) link

The Thai Fountain does cheapo and v. nice half-price food between 5 and 7, if people are up for earlier eating (I am, obviously, inviting myself out, I trust this is OK - I will be a lonely soul as the mister is off being rowdy in Morecambe this weekend).

But I like Cathy's idea too.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:28 (nineteen years ago) link

I prefer the greeks, to the thais.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:37 (nineteen years ago) link

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 4 November 2004 07:12 (nineteen years ago) link

What about bonfires?

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:11 (nineteen years ago) link

What about malfires?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:38 (nineteen years ago) link

Do they have bonfires, where we're going?

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:48 (nineteen years ago) link

hell is one big bonfire.

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:52 (nineteen years ago) link

QUESTION TIME, next week, is from Glasgow.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:01 (nineteen years ago) link

Will there be a bonfire at question time?

3underscore (___), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:17 (nineteen years ago) link

I applied to be on Question Time. I do hope I get picked.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:24 (nineteen years ago) link

You normally have quite a good chance. It is more difficult to get to actually ask a question. My ex went to it in Manchester, and (as it turned out) her now boss was on the panel.

3underscore (___), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:30 (nineteen years ago) link

A guy I went to school with asked a question on Question Time once. I can't even remember what he asked because I was so amazed at seeing somebody I knew on telly. The same guy also turned up on Blind Date. I can't remember if he was the picker or pickee, but he looked like a right idiot when he bought his date a tacky, red velvet, heart-shaped cushion thing. She gave him what for and the audience sided with her, quite rightly I thought.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:38 (nineteen years ago) link

madchen, do you speak italian? could you aid in the purchase of a t-shirt?

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:14 (nineteen years ago) link

could I resist a 'deleuze' t-shirt?!

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:15 (nineteen years ago) link

I could!

the bellefox, Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Cozen, I'd resist anything sold as 'highbrow streetwear'.

But the answer is yes, I do. Pick your colour:

(background/writing)
white/black
black/white
royal blue/white
navy blue/white
red/white
english green (bottle?)/white
yellow/white (this seems like a silly colour choice unless you want people to squint at your chest)

Men's sizes - this is for you, right?
XS - age 12-13 (48.5 x 65 cm)
S - continental size 36-38 (48.5 x 69.5 cm)
M - continental size 38-40 (53.5 x 72 cm)
L - continental size 40-42 (56 x 74.5 cm)
I'm not sure which of the centimetre sizes are chest and which are length - get a tape measure and compare with a t-shirt you already own.

The t-shirts cost €31.20 including VAT. However, they only do mail order to people in Italy. However again, Ally and I will be in Milan from 11th to 14th December, so we could track down the Deejay Choice shop and make a purchase on your behalf if you wish.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 13:43 (nineteen years ago) link

will you buy me glass polar bears?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 14:27 (nineteen years ago) link

yes, 'highbrow streetwear' ugh and also the rest of the designs (exc. maybe 'lacan') are rub rub rubbish.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:12 (nineteen years ago) link

oh! thank you madchen, for your kind offer, and the translation. I will think about whether I want to pay £24 (??) for a 'deleuze' t. and then get back to you.
