That one that requires "and the xxxx" after the name is kinda not fair.

This is one of the hardest you've done. I only got 6.

Eric H., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 16:50 (thirteen years ago) link

xp Sorry about that. For the album title A B and the C, I'd set it to accept "A B and the C," "B," and "C," but not "A B." Fixed now.

I feel quite chuffed at getting 8 then but this was tough

Mo Tucker Mo Problems (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 21 September 2010 18:13 (thirteen years ago) link

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't have gotten much more than that myself, had I not created the quiz, but I also don't think I chose any albums that were too obscure.

jaymc, Tuesday, 21 September 2010 18:29 (thirteen years ago) link

Nah there were a couple more I felt I shoulda got, it was a fair quiz.

Mo Tucker Mo Problems (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 21 September 2010 18:40 (thirteen years ago) link

I got eight as well.

Mark G, Tuesday, 21 September 2010 18:46 (thirteen years ago) link

7, there were a few more I should have got. Good quiz!

seven years pass...

Harnessing the power of the collective…

ILM please help me solve the following:

B = ADB, SAD, WWB
D = IR, UB, VOTD
L = S, S, S
Z = ABOD, GOS, SC

The initial letters are all popular musical acts with a single word name (no definite article in front), could be any genre or any era. The initials after the equals sign are albums released by said act.

Example:
A = GAG, R, TITA (Aerosmith = Get A Grip, Rocks, Toys In The Attic)

We've solved the other 22 letters of the alphabet, it's just the four above we're stuck on) but if you're bored I can post the whole quiz.

B is Boyzone (A Different Beat, Said and Done, Where We Belong)

Gholdfish Killah (Turrican), Sunday, 31 December 2017 15:59 (six years ago) link

It's probably cheating, but if you Google VOTD (as I did) you can probably solve D. These are hard!

eatandoph (Neue Jesse Schule), Sunday, 31 December 2017 16:02 (six years ago) link

I should have got Dragonforce! Thanks, both.

Jeff W, Sunday, 31 December 2017 16:16 (six years ago) link

Went the Google route to solve D. I'd never even heard of them, so I don't fancy my chances with L or Z.

Dan Worsley, Sunday, 31 December 2017 16:19 (six years ago) link

Found Z. A German hard rock band of recent vintage. There's a much better Russian space disco act with the same name.

Jeff W, Sunday, 31 December 2017 17:39 (six years ago) link

No wait, the disco act were from what's now Latvia, not Russia (sorry).

Jeff W, Sunday, 31 December 2017 17:44 (six years ago) link

L should be easy.. S, s, s

Nope

Mark G, Sunday, 31 December 2017 23:55 (six years ago) link

Lush: Scar, Spooky and Split, perhaps? Does Scar count as an album?

Jeff W, Monday, 1 January 2018 13:00 (six years ago) link

Led Zeppelin S/T I, II & III ;)
