define "near"

'that kind of sloping roof you see on the ones in the foreground'

They look sort of Scandinavian, as does the fact that some of the buildings are gaily coloured. Black soil = volcanic, but it's not Rekjavik and nowhere else in Iceland is big enough. Used to look different usually = destroyed in the war, so that'd be Norway. Bergen? But there's no sea in sight, which is confusing.

Somewhere Alpine/Tyrolean? Innsbruck?

For some reason, it makes me think of Eastern Europe...like maybe Romania?

That tall building with the clock looks a little like that one in Liverpool, but that's on the waterfront, I believe

Liverpool indeed, it's my hometown. I liked that it was the Liver Building without the Liver Birds in place.

how would you even begin with that photo? lampposts? the off-turquoise colour of the building suggests a lowish latitude perhaps

the man is wearing a hat, which indicates this city is located in a place where people wear hats

fire escapes, light, oldish, tallish buildings, driving on the right. looks like sf to me.

non-threatening cartoon on kiddies' window blind suggests maybe some liberal influences

building looks 30s.....so yeah would rule out a lot of places

i would have guessed california cuz kinda 'chill', and sf cuz it's old
