how essential is the weekdays/weekend convention as far as enjoying life is concerned?

Also how much do you NEED to have a drink and go out after work or at weekends? And does this further enhance the enjoyment as far as you're not a total alcoholic or something? As far as what?????

I have this thing where I am enjoying myself more now in the summer, working and going out, even though work is pretty bleak, than I was in winter, doing nothing all week and going out anyway. I feel less guilty about going and getting drunk, and also have more money. However I still feel that come the new semester I won't get a job because lazing around is obviously the biggest hobby I have, and impossible to mentally overcome.

It may be an addiction vs common sense thread.

One of the best things about it was that you still got a trad. weekend to share with 'normal' friends every other week, but you also had several days where you could go enjoy yourself without dealing with massive weekend crowds everywhere. I miss that.

I think I would kill someone (myself) if I worked in a branch. May the Lord bless your patience.

But now I understand. ANd it's terrible, I try to pack as much as humanly possible into those precious 48 hours, so that I end up more tired on Monday morning than I was on Friday night. Wah! And it starts the cycle all over again.

And speaking of work, I should really do some today...

I vastly prefer weekdays. Weekends are too chaotic, not relaxing, less structured.

This distinction is really an idea of industrial revolution/capitalism isn't it? Yes the bible has something to say about the days of the week but still.

The difference between weekdays and weekends is you go to work during the week. The working week. I don't think it's a mind blowing concept. Days, months, years are all natural phonmema, but the week is an entirely human construct. And it only takes a week of not going to work to be unsure what say it is. That' should be clearer today than most days.
