Holy crap, William Goldman!

Although since no one but the writer and producer is listed, I take it New Line optioned the property and Goldman wrote a script and no one's decided if they're making the movie yet.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 21:38 (nineteen years ago) link

he probably hasn't even written the script yet

Wait, that might be the best movie ever. Is Johnny available to play Billy Batson?

Not current on the character, but the "Big" boy-in-man's-body is new to the character, yes? The '70s Saturday kids show, they were distinct personalities, as was the comic, iirc.

the body of a spider... (scampering alpaca), Wednesday, 25 July 2018 17:07 (five years ago) link

Shazam as a giant man boy goes back to the late 80s in the Giffin/DeMatteis Justice League.

still holding out hope for a Prime movie as far as this niche is concerned

This is a total Jeff Porcaro. (Doctor Casino), Thursday, 26 July 2018 01:10 (five years ago) link

Given the creator of the character, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Good DC movies:
The Lego Batman Movie
Batman Returns
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies
Batman (1966)
Mask Of The Phantasm, probably

OK DC movies:
Superman
Superman II: The Donner Cut, maybe

So it's the best modern live-action DC movie?

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 10 April 2019 00:06 (five years ago) link

for sure seems plausible, though I was more saying I’d expect this to pitch at max “not actively offensive in tone, content or quality”

It was a lot of fun, I’m very tired of mark strong as a villain though.
