Is that brownish-pink thing in front of the TV an action figure? Can someone zoom like on 24? Both girls are wearing strappy tops underneath jackets, so I'm agreeing with the theory that they're planning on going to another party/bar after this.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:58 (eighteen years ago) link

I am still pulling for shared apartment (or flat, whichever), but still in college.

Girls there for the pre-party - beer and/or smoke
Dude has a LOT of video games.
Courses do not look all that tough - books kind of thin.

Athlete girl's side-boob is hot.

it's a remarkably tidy room, actually.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:59 (eighteen years ago) link

Is he wearing a non-official Hooters T-shirt?

Or do the designs change every year? (possible date to be found out this way?) Does the text below the logo say something about a specific restaurant?

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:59 (eighteen years ago) link

Ally,

I'm sorry if I was harsh earlier. You obviously rock. I'm sorry Pete and I never had you over to play video games and drink cheap beer.

Love,
Andy

does this guy have a PAPER BAG covering one of his books? look at it closely!

pinkish brown thing (previously referred to as a bow) = speaker wire

I think it might say "King of Prussia, PA" on the shirt, underneath the owl.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Its from the King of Prussia Hooters!

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Roxy, where'd you get this picture?

Laura H. (laurah), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:01 (eighteen years ago) link

ooh, Hooters idea is a good idea... maybe someone could email Hooters and ask about it?

Another thing that is bothering me is the sheer NUMBER of textbooks. How many classes is typical to be taking at once. 4 was the norm at my school.

omg xpost

Andy, I can still come by! I didn't move to another planet! Or y'all can come by, whenever. Haha and we can maybe roffle at my old apt. The good days.

Maybe Wayne is trying to impress the chicks.

Jena (JenaP), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (eighteen years ago) link

guy DEFINITELY has a paper-bag book cover!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (eighteen years ago) link

Jon, there can be multiple books for each class. They don't have to all be textbooks. You would know this if you had been a liberal arts major. ;-)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (eighteen years ago) link

Wasn't there someone on ILM who was half deaf with tinnitus? (runs away)

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:03 (eighteen years ago) link

jaymc, I had multiple textbooks for most of my upper level classes. :D :D

Anyway, what is the black box between the grey thing (TV) and the stack of books?

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:05 (eighteen years ago) link

I think there's two mini-speakers there.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:06 (eighteen years ago) link

Sounds good, Ally.

On another note, a friend of mine just bought a house and the downstairs bathroom was PLASTERED - floor to ceiling, all four walls - with pictures the former owner's son stole from the Fotomat where he used to work. Creepy creepy.

Roxy, was this linked from a page on GIS?

A BOLD QUAHOG (ex machina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:06 (eighteen years ago) link

Weed is, without a doubt, the only thing i can think of that would have made this situation possible.

deej.. (deej..), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (eighteen years ago) link

it's got to be either a shared apartment or a dorm - at my school some of the upperclasmen dorms looked just like this: crappy furniture, shitty brown insitutional rug...

and his room is completely packed with shit - so it's some sort of shared living situation.

i bet he's a mechanical or electrical engineering student.

what is GIS?

you don't need coats everywhere in the US, even during winter.

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:07 (eighteen years ago) link

some of the books have protective covers made of brown paper bags on them.

also, just because they're not fat doesnt mean they arent tough, obv.

It might be suite living... at RIT they have these sort of off campus university condo type places that 4 people live in.....

Guy taking the picture = friend of widelegs from hometown, invites her and her roomate over for some beers, oh, this is my roomate Wayne.

Dave will do (dave225.3), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:09 (eighteen years ago) link

On second thought, Wayne looks like this might not be his crib. Something about him tells me HE's here for the party, too. Occupant took picture.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:09 (eighteen years ago) link

those all look like first year tech textbooks. they're all underage, but he has a beer connection, and the girls have gone there to pregame.

I'll go with that. Indian Summer, even.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:11 (eighteen years ago) link

Dave, I think you're summation is the right one. Wayne has NO clue how to act, and plops down on the bed, trapping the chix in the corner, but not saying a word - his Hooters shirt says all it needs to.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:11 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, hmmm: if it was Wayne's bed, would he be sitting where he's sitting? Wouldn't he sit more toward the head of the bed and let the guests sit toward the foot? I don't know why I think this, except there's sort of a protective instinct that would dictate that positioning.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:12 (eighteen years ago) link

air conditioner + curtains = probably not dorm? i only know one guy who has curtains in his dorm room, and his room is impeccably neat and has opera & museum posters on the walls...i don't think that the nintendo/family guy type room is going to have curtains.

Maria (Maria), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:13 (eighteen years ago) link

If it wasn't his place, he wouldn't be sitting on the bed with the girls like that.... that position is reserved for the lord of the castle and there's no way he would usurp that from his bro for a single picture.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:13 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, it looks like, the way things are set up, the chix arrived first and were moved over when Wayne showed.

They clearly have met either Wayne or the picture-taker, or both, before. They do not appear ill-at-ease, although Orange Girl looks like she might have to pee.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:14 (eighteen years ago) link

it doesnt matter anyway, even if it's NOT wayne's room, he spends tons of time in it smokin and playing GTA.

AaronK (AaronK), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:14 (eighteen years ago) link

The Hooters in King of Prussia, PA. Anyone near there want to go ask if they recognize Wayne?

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 19:14 (eighteen years ago) link
