Tattoos

and i know this sounds lame and you can all laugh at me and warn me about the longterm risks, but i would also seriously have my bf's initials subtley weaved into my tattoo design.

I have something pretty close to this on my right shoulder, filled in solid black of the beetle emblem:

2. Try not to get a monochrome tat, especially black. Unless you are a sailor.

RR - despite most people warning against it, I got my bf's name as/in one of my tatoos when we'd only been together a year. That was 2002 and he's now my husband.

yeah... if i had even the slightest doubt we wouldn't last the distance there's no way in hell i'd even think twice about it. but ya know - i'm sure about this one!
