this is the equivalent of being first on the moon

what I meant that this is purely a dick waving contest aimed at amazon mp3 and emusic et al, apple doesn't really care if they make any money on this

Also, chrisv, I'm sure quite a few people that had the vinyl rebought it when the first Beatles discs came out in the 80s, then again last year.

chrisv is right. steve jobs will be lucky to sell 20 beatles box sets this holiday season and apple pr are probably wishing they'd have gone bigger on twitter integration instead of this rubbish.

Okay, now you're just trollin'.

OTM. Plus all their outtakes and stuff. Hell, if they had announced the availability of their catalog + their catalog's worth of new outtakes, I'd actually consider it.

Telephoneface (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 16:07 (thirteen years ago) link

I've been downloading Beatles MP3s for over 10 years now, hell my first website ever was a Beatles MP3 bootleg site in 1997. Suck it, Apple.

Telephoneface (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 16:08 (thirteen years ago) link

they should have called it "Beatles HD"

progressive cuts (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 16:10 (thirteen years ago) link

All I really want is, like, a 10-disc Blu-Ray set of every moment of footage recorded for the whole Let It Be project, plus accompanying CDs. Is that too much to ask?

Tub Girl Time Machine (Phil D.), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 16:11 (thirteen years ago) link

I want all their stoned-out late night jam sessions from 1967/68 edited down and remixed by Eye from the Boredoms.

What's the bitrate on these? (I don't use iTunes) £125 is basically the same price as the CD stereo box set.

Supposedly they were working on a DVD release a few years ago (before Neil Aspinall died), but looking at the footage, McCartney's reaction was basically, "Boy, I was a dick. OK, shut it down."

Mm i've always imagined that might be the case. Where did you read about it?

Here: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/54635/Macca-and-Ringo-say-just-Let-It-Be

Can't remember where I read about McCartney's take on/takedown of it, though.

The Beatles glumly watch a rough cut of Let It Be in 1969.

back row l-r Paul & Linda (necking in the back row), Ringo, John (a rare 1969 appearance without Yoko at this side
front row l-r George's Dad!, Patti, George, George's Mum (soon to pass away), and behind her Beatles lackey/associate Terry Doran

I'd never seen this photo till a few weeks ago when it turned up on the Beatles Photo Blog.

The Rolling Stones are there too. Whether it's nostalgia or coincidence, Gimme Shelter is at No 81. The song isn't new, reissued or the subject of a major Apple announcement. People just like it a lot.

Nothing at all to do with it being used in the CoD:BlOps ad.

And which tracks are most popular with Fab Four fans in the UK? Not Yesterday, I Want to Hold Your Hand or even Strawberry Fields. British music-lovers are double-clicking their love for Hey Jude, Twist and Shout, and Let It Be.

not these three popular beatles songs, these other three popular beatles songs.
