I admit that I haven't been following Diddy at all lately, but is all of his new stuff as obviously Kanye-biting as the first song he played? I mean not just musically, his awkward dancing, his set-up, everything just screamed "I really really want to be Kanye" right now.

i think even now Kanye is more of a wannabe Diddy than vice versa, although there is obviously some influence flowing in both directions. bear in mind Press Play and "Last Night" predated 808s & Heartbreak.

Yeah, I have Press Play. I haven't listened to it in forever, but I don't remember a whole lot that would directly tie into 808s though. It was just funny because two minutes into his first song, before I had even said anything, my wife goes, "I thought Kanye already performed this season" very sarcastically, so it wasn't just me.

The only thing I think of when I see those Vogelcheck sketches is "everybody's going to be sick tomorrow".

Okay, McCartney doing Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" was a nice twist, but "A Day in the Life" sounded absolutely awful.

Not to sound like a cynic, but that is the one solo Lennon song Paul gets royalties for.

They've been his recording/touring band for like ten years now. They're all seasoned session dudes, drummer is the son of some well-used studio bassist, keyboard player has played with everyone in the world, etc.

Also, I believe blonde guitar dude was cloned from the sweat on one of Steven Tyler's scarves.

yeah his facelifted guitar player is terrible

been a while since I've seen anyone get three musical spots on the show, but it's been a while since I've watched a full SNL. I am one who thinks the only times the show has been completely funny were the eddie murphy years/the crystal short eberson years and the early dana carvey years and everything since has been really spotty, but I thought this episode was pretty good, better than others I've watched (I think this is the first one this season i've watched though). the cast seems better.

also I thought mccartney sounded alright, I mean he is 100 years old and this was pretty raw, I'm sure some sweetening goes on during his stadium shows.

xps He actually got FOUR, which I think is the first time that's ever happened. Both U2 and Phoenix have gotten three performances in the last decade.

Pretty dire episode imo. 'They all kiss and lick each other for 7 minutes' is NOT writing. Can't believe this is a recurring thing. This week actually made me long for a Kristen Wiig sketch. Wonder if she was sick or something.

McCartney, and especially the band he "bought" (lol Scott) sounded pretty bad.

I don't find Stefon nearly as funny as y'all do (or as Hader finds himself, apparently.)

Uh, Wiig was the mom in the Vogelchek sketch. But yeah, those are pretty tiresome at this point. Stefon is fantastic, fuiud.

Pretty tired fo the kissing bit, but it seems like thats become a Paul Rudd recurring thing.

What I did love to my surprise was the game show, since I usually despite the game show as an SNL skit frame. This one however was extremely funny. Kenan was great.

I also liked the cat food ad. It was subtle and simple.

the cabaret thing was dire

the sex advice show with the bigot host could have been ok but was not. is that a recurring bit?

so weird how it was a bad episode but i kinda remember it fondly two days later? the cat food thing was hilarious
