Both clubs have a waterbird on their crest but Swansea's is a swan and ADO's appears to be an egret. Big difference there.

Carl Muggleton and Crawford Baptie are excellent choices, btw. Crawford Baptie is instantly symbolic of every journeyman SPL plodder in history (like a better Kirk Broadfoot), and Carl Muggleton is an instant symbol of how pish Celtic used to be (see also Martin Hayes, Stuart Slater - who I actually quite liked - and Wayne Biggins).

Jose Quitongo always puts me in mind of Jerome Vareille as well - vaguely crap foreigners who ended up having a very long and not very distinguished career in the arse end of the SPL.

Which brings us nicely on to Danny Invincibile.

this was the first name I thought of when I saw this thread

also Bobby Mimms for when I see something about the rapper Mims, which admittedly hasn't been too often of late

I like how the foreignness of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink sneaks up on you.

90 Minutes magazine used to do these proto-The most interesting pieces of soccerball trivia you know (that are 100% false) factoid boxouts and one of them was something like "commentators are required by FA guidelines to refer to Ruel Fox by his full name at all times"

on a similar note, I watched a St Johnstone game on the telly once when everyone was referred to by their surname except for Chris Miller (which they ran into one word ChrisMiller, which had the annoying side effect of me having Bohemian Rhapsody stuck in my head for the rest of the day)

ailsa, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 13:45 (thirteen years ago) link

Chris Millar has won all three SFL championships, only the SPL to go for the full set.
