if crit rap means anything its stuff that is celebrated primarily by critics which isnt even remotely true of waka

most critics couldnt care less. hes not making, like, greg kot's list of the best albums of the year. hes not getting rolling stone covers. hes a street rapper who made a great album & i think deserves acclaim for that but me thinking this doesnt make him 'crit rap' just like us realizing that gucci was awesome didnt make his fanbase 'hipsters'

i think my 2c matters a little bit even if i was kind of off and on last year - 'gun sounds' is weaker than previous years but serviceable and better than most of the suggestions - i think we can learn to love it

rolling goon titles are supposed to be lowest common denominator rap thing not something found on P4k-approved crit-rap albums and then slyly meta-commented on by Fader-approved tumblr rap stars
