Loomer comes the closest. The first second of it especially. You never hear that sound again, unfortunately. Like something heavy's been dropped.

I'd really love them to do this now. Definitely could see Kevin guesting with Sunn o))). You wouldn't be able to see him for all the dry ice though!

what the hell defines metal in this context? i doubt they're very practiced in metal technique, probably not big listeners to metal, so it's like... should neurosis make a hip-hop album? they've got DRUMS in their music, after all.

should MBV make a REALLY LOUD MBV album? yes. a metal album? wouldn't work.

We don't know what they listen to though. You just never know.

I forgot all about this. Either there will be about 10 votes in total or it will be 80 no votes and a couple of yes votes.

every now and then, i think that a metal-version of MBV would sound a lot like the deftones (which would be a good thing).

I'm sure Chino said when making White Pony that he had been listening to a lot of stuff like that. And there's certainly LOADS of metal bands influenced by MBV and shoegaze bands now.

Jesu sounds like a slow metal MBV in places.

yes. i think that might have been something not unlike the point whiney was making by posting a picture of their first album.
anyway: RESULT! er, theoretically.

If only it could happen. I wonder if all the votes are just MBV fans who are desperate for just ANY kind of MBV album after all this time!

Never seen this topic before I ran a search just now, BUT.
'Feed Me With Your Kiss' came around on shuffle and I thought something I've never thought before: "This is the least competent metal song I've ever heard."
I was thoroughly amused by this thought and to discover that others share it (or have shared it) is doubly delightful. You guys are great.👍🏻
