yah, plzand can someone do the same for commercial releases? Anything good released in hip hop yet this year commercially?
― bang-proof-bling-mans (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 22:05 (thirteen years ago) link
i don't think there has been one commercially released rap album
― pop the s1ock (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 22:06 (thirteen years ago) link
wiz coming up in a few weeks is really the first i think
the only thing on that list commercially released is the db the general. i only know this because it's the only one i've been unable to download in the last 30 minutes (can't use itunes)
saigon?
i really should try to make more of a point of buying albums when they come out. we are pretty treated as rap fans really.

Talib Kweli released an official album in January too. but yeah this time of year is dead for retail releases in general, but especially rap and especially especially major label rap.

Schoolboy Q's Setbacks is another decent 2011 release. Also Lil B's Angels Exodus which i think i prefer to Red Flame DME

"show stopper, the hoe knocker, the blow copperflow popper, make it snow like i own doppler
hard headed, long breaded, the dome busterslugs penetrate your skin, fuck up your bone structure
head cracker, bread stacker, the fed clapperkidnapper, the car jacker, the broad smacker"
That verse is stylistically lifted from this 90's slugger:
Smooth Da Hustler - Broken Language (ft Trigger tha Gambler)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzcdmGINcqI
One of my top 50 rap tracks all time. That one you posted sounds solid though and overall is nothing like Broken Language.

Sorry, bad threadiquette.
"it's the greatest song in the world IMO"
Cant really argue with that.
"life's a 50/50 gamble" is the album""the whole album - once upon a time in america - is great stuff"
Absolutely, good luck getting a physical of either. Lifes a 50/50 is basically impossible (as it was never officially released), and Once Upon A Time goes for a steep price. Both are dead good. Because it was my entry point for these two, I'll always have love for the Hall and Oates flipped 'My Crew Cant Go For That', which I got from the Nutty Professor soundtrack in 96:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UR6YfJGIX4Kinda corny but still gritty with the bars.
Another standout from 50/50:
