posted about this dude two days ago & just saw this linked on rnt. one of my favourite mixtapes of the year, these kids are insanely creative w/ production, some of which is breathtaking, beautiful. lots of delay & cut up vocal loops, and huge bass. i could see this getting big but i'm not sure if there's room for another group of kids making inspired rap music in a world w/ lil b & odd future

Back on topic... I've really been digging Squadda B's tape after track 5 at least and the first half of the recent Young L tape, it goes a bit shit by the second but this is mixtape land so its expected.

I posted a link to a Clams Casino beat tape on the Lil B thread. It's got stuff he's done for these guys as well as B and Soulja Boy. Really impressive.

one song i wanted to share from that yg hootie tape is this one yg hootie - west hattnin which contains the perplexing lyric "i'm just licking and i'm gliding and i'm riding on the pussy niggas/i'm in the club on point & all my boys on point, we gone lick yo ass funk." so lol how it seemingly unknowingly pushes generic homophobia into a bizarelly aggressive threat to lick some dude's ass

approximate rhymes are plentiful and inevitable in rap and are often inoffensive or even clever and creative. and sometimes they're really dumb, and the rapper chooses to beat you over the head with it by opening a verse with one.

that line as i hear it is "Word to ya mama/ahm outta mah lima/bean" and there's enough slurred inner-syllabic rhyme there where it never bugged me

i like the young l tape a lot -- it has some filler but i think the stuff at the end is actually really good (barring "sex is dope") -- dude is pretty melodic as long as you have the stomach for autotune warbling
