spoonbender nice long piece -- squishy minimal with sound bits from cronenberg film.
2nd black pus -- more trio goodness -- some parts even sound like really primitive banghra.

the best part of that congo record is that side b is the entirety of a mass sung in congolese style.

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Sunday, 19 February 2006 07:06 (eighteen years ago) link

huh .. the cover for Berry On Top is awesoem. I went to go see Eddie C. Campbell play tonight, and he ruled as always, and this time he did a cover of "Little Queenie" adn the whole time I was thinking to myself how much Chuck Berry ruled... and how much The Great Twenty-Eight really ISN'T enough ... you totally need to get the actualy Chess albums (even teh Chess box doesn't really cover it) for things like "Guitar Rhumba" and "Berry Pickin" ... SO ruling.

do you absolutely love the mcdonald & giles like i do? (did you get it on cd? email me if yes).

i like "Todd". it's really fucking sprawling, and has a lot of really stupid shit, but it's pretty great. hopefully it'll grow on you.

currently listening to Shalimar. dunno why it's so coveted. there are a few copies on ebay listed for $150. i've got tons of bollywood albums that are better and funkier than this.

I'm not exactly sure. It's a two CD set, and is labeled as having a bunch of King Tubby, Vivian Jackson & the Prophets, Tommy McCook. This AMG entry has the same tracklist with different artists here and there.
