I love Rainicorn's translator settings: Alien, Old Man, and Nightmare (right?)

Apparently Michael Deforge is doing some freelance work for Adventure Time now. I'm on my phone so I can't c/p the address, but there was an entry on the production blog with his design proposals for Tree Trunks' vomit (with the Lava Cake, Shotgun Blast, Autumn Leaves and Gentleman's Swirl).

You can download them too.

"It's just entirely devoid of humor."

How can this be said when scenes like the one linked above happen for an entire episode, every episode?

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 20:36 (thirteen years ago) link

i wanna like this show but it just isn't clicking.
regular show on the other hand...

I just want to give a shout-out to Buzzy Beetles (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 21:19 (thirteen years ago) link

Regular Show is great!! So is Flapjack, a precursor of sorts to Adventure Time that Pendleton Ward worked on.

Marcelline's new mohawk was awesome.

Better? No way, but still amazing. Great episode too!

two weeks pass...

God, I want to see a knife storm.

kkvgz, Friday, 15 April 2011 17:34 (thirteen years ago) link

having my childhood tempered by the accelerating ADD vibes of tartakovsky & cartoon network in the 90's, there is absolutely no way i can't be enamored with adventure time. reg show & flapjack. is there anything else sublime, weird or great i should be looking for? did that paperrad show ever pan out on cn?

night mode (margins), Friday, 15 April 2011 18:57 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah it's called problem solverz, it's pretty good

Oh, I saw that for the first time this week. Seemed a bit light on narrative, but the lights and sounds broke my brain.

kkvgz, Friday, 15 April 2011 19:11 (thirteen years ago) link

it's only been on for 2 weeks, not gonna judge it too harshly, curious to see where it's gonna go

I laffed

ohh ok, so problem solverz are the neon knome characters. i'm in for that. preliminary laffs are already guaranteed because of little stupid faces.

night mode (margins), Friday, 15 April 2011 19:25 (thirteen years ago) link

I would add Superjail to the mix, margins

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Friday, 15 April 2011 19:38 (thirteen years ago) link

my drummer lent me the superjail dvd, haven't checked it out yet

It has an adult sensibility but the art is loose and fun.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Friday, 15 April 2011 19:49 (thirteen years ago) link

Yes E3 they're really great oh and, as it turns out, I love this.

ENBB, Friday, 15 April 2011 19:53 (thirteen years ago) link

The title cards should absolutely be collected as a book.

i love this drawing by a couple of the storyboard artists:

tom herpich is working on this? awesome. love GONGWANADON (read it now!), always wondered what'd become of him.

this is the best show, btw

contenderizer, Monday, 16 May 2011 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link

This was a good season, "Death in Bloom" probably being the single best episode. I think it was slightly more inconsistant than S1 though.

Duane Barry, Monday, 16 May 2011 20:56 (thirteen years ago) link

Inconsistent? Which episodes were bad, though?

Jouster, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 00:42 (thirteen years ago) link

Happily, the third season starts next month!

phantompenguin, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 00:55 (thirteen years ago) link

not sure if it was inconsistent as much as there were really high highs which made the ok episodes look kinda dull by comparison

the first rule of debate club (Edward III), Tuesday, 17 May 2011 03:40 (thirteen years ago) link

Some episodes were a little slow, comparatively. The best episodes are the ones that have so many super creative surprises that constantly keep you on your toes like new characters, background situations, wackily stylized expressions, mind-blowing comments/word use, and bagels magically getting torsos/legs/underwear- all very suddenly. Though some that were a little more disappointing initially turned out to be incredible when watched again.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Tuesday, 17 May 2011 04:48 (thirteen years ago) link

It's raunchy and maddening. All those men and their disgusting fantastic bodies.

monster_xero, Sunday, 29 May 2011 02:43 (twelve years ago) link

Five minutes of this and I'm like "wait that dogs voice sounds familiar".

Its John DiMaggio is why.

The man who mistook his life for a FAP (Trayce), Sunday, 29 May 2011 02:58 (twelve years ago) link

Jouster, the second season just had a higher number of episodes that didn't work (at least for me, personally) than the first - e.g. "Crystals have Power", "The Other Tarts", "Mystery Train". I'm not suggesting the show is going downhill or anything (not even close!) as there were a lot of fantastic episodes too. Looking forward to S3.

Duane Barry, Sunday, 29 May 2011 13:22 (twelve years ago) link

just found out henry rollins and laura silverman played lady rainicorn's parents
