I love the two of theirs I have, 'Acrid Acme' & 'Kühe In 1/2 Trauer'. Anyone who hasn't heard 'Kühe' yet who's into noise, it is money in the bank for you. 80's post-industrial Faust crossed with This Heat isn't far off the mark, though p16d4 was always more about pure sound, anyone expecting tunes might find this tough sledding. what was always impressive is that these still seem to be 'songs' entirely because the editing is so rigorous and precise.

Search pretty much everything...

the Three Projects CD on RRR compiles some interesting experiments but isn´t quite as amazing as the best stuff on Acrid Acme. The Distruct CD (originally a Selektion LP, later reissued on Odd Size) is them working with other artists, also interesting but not life-altering. The double LP NNNN! is the only one I haven´t heard, supposed to be noiser and it is the basis for one of the early RLW CDs, Revue Et Corrige I think.

The Tionchor CD is the one to get next, a collection of mostly superb compilaton tracks. The CD has three extra songs. They also have some good stuff on the long-oop Masse Mensch comp LP, they could really use a companion disc to Tionchor cause there´s more comp tracks out there yet to be assembled in one place.

I also have an LP on whatever the precursor label to Vinyl On Demand was (can´t remember), called VRLN (?) which was an early cassette. The ratio of rock band to tape experiment on these earlier recordings (see also the EaRLW LP series) is higher, but still deliciously fucked.

For side projects, search the SLP CD on Selektion, awesome awesome highly edited NOIZE. Also the early LPs by Swimming Behavior Of The Human Infant, which is Achim Wollscheid solo before he started releasing stuff under his own name.

At their best they created my favorite noise pieces of the 80's.

nine years pass...

bump, just for the hell of it, since we're talking about threads with low volume. I finally tracked down a copy of the NNNN! double LP, and the P16.D4 tracks were also reissued on this amazing box set that is now sadly out of print:

https://www.discogs.com/P16D4-Passagen/release/4190592

tons of bonus tracks, an entire DVD of video with audio soundtracks, and a button!

The NNNN! tracks are quite good and it's a bummer that they're buried on an unavailable box.

Seems like RLW has continued releasing material at a rapid rate, I haven't even come close to keeping up. Anyone heard anything after "I.K.K. - Purpur"?

two years pass...

just got the cd version of distruct, feel a deep dive is necessary for these guys. gonna use sleeve's post as a guide.

the sound quality on this cd is extremely high, miles beyond what i expect from a 1994 reissue of a 1984 lp.

yeah one thing that always set them apart (like NWW) was the attention to sound and sound quality, those early Selektion LP pressings are very good.

ILXmail me for the full NNNN! release if interested.

The Swimming Behavior Of The Human Infant releases (Achim Wollscheid solo) are v good as well if u dig this stuff
