Women with volumised pubes should certainly avoid light, floaty skirts and dresses. it could look ugly.

Adding body to your legs doesn't sound right

Shampoo's chemical make up is v.similar to that of Fairy Liquid. So you could try that, instead.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 1 October 2004 11:44 (nineteen years ago) link

My mum did, when we ran out of shampoo.

Shampoo is a detergent, not a soap, right? I get so confused.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 1 October 2004 11:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I occasionally shampoo my body hair for a laugh. I've used bar soap to wash my hair but not because I wanted to.

I knew a guy in college who used Pert Plus on his entire body and had no trouble. I've done similar things when running low on soap, I don't see why that would be a problem.

Philosophy makes a line of bath products that are meant to be used as shampoo as well as liquid body soap.

I have often wondered if anybody has ever tried to de-frizz/straighten their body hair. Imagine long, sleek locks hanging from your ahem and elsewhere. What fun.

I think shampoo can be used on the body, but it's more expensive than your average bar soap, and thus its use is generally restricted to the head.

Shower Gel is good for making bubbles in the shower - you know, hug yourself and unfold your arms in a circle (holding hands) in front of you. THen there will be a big bubble film you can dance around with. I hate showers, and making bubbles is the only thing that makes me have them.

Peeing on yourself doesn't do it for you?

HAHA I bought some defrizzing shampoo a while ago but it didn't work, so I began using it in the nether regions - just to try and use it up, mind you. No it doesn't defrizz there either, but I content myself with the amusement factor of having a special bottle of pube shampoo. I should label it as such, but that might discourage other family members from using it, and I'm trying to GET RID OF IT after all.

"Peeing on yourself doesn't do it for you?"

I can pee on myself any time I like, it doesn't have the same funfactor.

I am liking the image of Kevin dancing with a big bubble, like a naked mad Fred Astaire.

i am a shower-products whore, but i don't go too big on shampoo anymore - i stick with either pantene or fructis - i dig the herbal scented shampoos as a sensual experience, but they make my hair look crap, generally... My Dad used to use a beer shampoo on his hair, to thicken what was left (it was vain, it was in vain), and that smelt gnarly and made my hair look crapola.

But if we're talking shower gel, I always have about five different bottles open at any given time, and particularly like Tesco's own-brand watermelon, sainsbury's own-brand lime and coconut (like showering in thai green curry!), and all of the palmolive ones, particularly the Thermal Spa with the little spheres of freshness inside, and the exotic Creme.

I used to date a girl who was a FREAK for the shower, loved to spend hours in there, fuck in there, etc. Great dirty/clean days, i remember giving her a Gillette Mach 3 razor and blades (she was always stealing mine) as a surprise gift once, and she was so *chuffed*...

I sometimes wonder if anyone uses shampoo on their body hair. Do people with especially hairy legs shampoo them, for example? If not, why not?

Conditioner makes a pretty good shaving cream if nothing else is available.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 2 October 2004 21:34 (nineteen years ago) link

Or shampoo and condition with Bold liquid?

no, but i've drunk it

I once read that water-based lube makes a very good shaving gel. I tried it out; whoever said it is WRONG.

Can you get anti-dandruff shower gel?

Andrew (enneff), Sunday, 3 October 2004 14:24 (nineteen years ago) link

Years ago, I shaved my head totally bald. I thought I wouldn't have to use shampoo anymore, because there was no hair to use it on. So I just washed my head with soap. However, within a couple of weeks my scalp started to get quite dry and flaky, so I had to return to using shampoo, washing my scalp with it.

nine years pass...

I quit shampoo and conditioner 3 years ago and have never looked back. I was on tour w a woman who had amazing blue hair and it stayed looking amazing even though showers were super hard to come by. So I asked her what her secret was and she told me baby powder, just put it in your hair, shake it out, comb it through, do whatever you need, and voila! I instantly loved this and I have super oily skin/hair so it was a godsend. Of course lots of times I end up looking like a weirdo but that's never stopped me before!

my hair looks incredibly stupid after shampooing and i always need to use product to make it look natural. my dressed down, effortless style is a lie.

sonic thedgehod (albvivertine), Wednesday, 9 April 2014 08:23 (ten years ago) link

My hair probably stinks but I had a spinal tap shortly after I was born which more or less killed my sense of smell entirely. I was told I smell before I started doing this, it's something I've had to deal with my whole life, so it's not really a concern.
