whoa goons coming THRU of late. although some of them are a bit late! that yung la track is so sweet, that's what i want generic second-tier chart hip-hop to always sound like. "the blues" is O_O how did none of us notice it last year? "drop top phantom so the world know i'm hazing / catch contact high while i listen to miles davis" is totally a subset of "rappers who love sade".

"nore shot somebody" is amazing too

lex pretend, Tuesday, 26 April 2011 17:09 (thirteen years ago) link

coo coo khal (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 26 April 2011 17:13 (thirteen years ago) link

nope! to my knowledge i have never heard a thing by camp lo. the only thing i seem to have in itunes is a featured spot on a kidz in the hall song i have no recollection of.

"one of the great albums of all time"

Yah, the strength of the singles on that lp ('Coolie High'-'Luchini'-'Black Nostaljack') + 'Sparkle' lifts it to classic status, the rest is good too, but those really make it special. Good luck understanding anything their talking about though.

Their second lp had some greatness too, the funk on 'Macadame' is pretty undeniable:

DXnext artist Mac Miller, who is signed to Pittsburgh-based Rostrum Records, reached the 60,000 mark on his digital EP, On and On and Beyond EP. Released the same day as label-mate Wiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers, the project continues to be one of the year's top indie sellers.
