the reasons this game was so good:

1. The Patriots lost at the hands of ANOTHER Manning in the playoffs.
2. Very little laundry on the field during the game.
3. Little to no controversy.
4. Strong defensive play as opposed to offensive ineptitude (cough Steelers-Seahawks super bowl)
5. Both teams trading tds within the last 2:42.
6. 85 yard game winning TD drive.
7. Fuck Terrell Owens. Tyree="The Catch, II". Who cares if they ain't the 49ers, and it wasn't a touchdown pass. Without it, there is no td pass later.
8. Compared to the humongous fanfare preceding the game, this was just a classic, non-pretentious football game with little histrionics until the very end, where they belonged.

i didn't see the game, did the pats lose or did the giants win? i also have fucked up my life in a total and severe way to the point where i no longer care about football.

Yeah, me too. I hope this year's better than the last one. 2004 sucked but the Pats came through that time

daria-g, Monday, 4 February 2008 05:54 (sixteen years ago) link

i wasn't right about nothin other than the fact that it wasn't a blowout.

still entertaining to see jhoshea's quotes later though.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Monday, 4 February 2008 06:02 (sixteen years ago) link

I still want to figure out, well, what happened with this team toward the end of the season. did they get burned out? pressure of keeping that perfect record? they looked pretty bad against San Diego and I wondered what was wrong with Brady and the rest of the offense then. heard during a brief halftime interview with Belichick that he was pretty much saying the defense would have to win it..

daria-g, Monday, 4 February 2008 06:20 (sixteen years ago) link

I turned off my cell this afternoon and fear turning it back on to read all these txts from the schef

daria-g, Monday, 4 February 2008 06:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Added Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss: "I think their intensity from the beginning snap to the end of the game was really higher than ours. We just couldn't meet that intensity."

lol @ you bitter ass Argentinian bandwagon hopping dick sucker. My team won four games and I still enjoyed watching faggot ass Belibitch and faggot ass Moss and faggot ass Brady get anal raped by a Manning in front of the whole world. Mercury Morris is doing coke off of Larry Czonka's Viagra enhanced boner right now while Bob Griese and Paul Warfield are tag teaming Junior Seau's wife. Your cheating asses took a shit in the biggest game ever and now the whole world has a RIGHT to laugh at your asses. HA HA FUCKING HA

I actually woke up early for once, wtf. You know, I hope Pats lighten up next year and get one (1) sense of humor after this thing but I'm sure Belichick's hopeless

daria-g, Monday, 4 February 2008 13:31 (sixteen years ago) link

i want to apologise to Mr. Tom Petty for bashing his selection as the super bowl halftime show after it turned out that his performance was nearly the best thing about the whole super bowl, second only to when they paid tribute to that dude who has been a Giants' coach since 1948. my dad was born in 1948. doesn't that dude qualify for retirement yet?

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 4 February 2008 13:46 (sixteen years ago) link

dudes this game was mentioned on the Radio 4 Today Programme this morning, in the UK!

i watched the BBC2 broadcast last night (this year was the first time ever that the BBC has broadcast the Super Bowl) and it was being commentated entirely by morons and guys who were barely old enough to tie their own ties; apparently feetball is hugely popular among Brits though (i.e. the Wembley "match" between the Giants and the Dolphins this year).. the yokels in the booth kept saying things like "and we'll... we'll start a Europe-wide league!" lol good luck with that fellas

Tracer Hand, Monday, 4 February 2008 13:47 (sixteen years ago) link

i actually enjoyed the tame stylings of mr petty as well -- opening with "american girl" forgives a lot of sins

Tracer Hand, Monday, 4 February 2008 13:47 (sixteen years ago) link

but yeah basically my reaction can be summed up as follows

HOLY

SHIT

Tracer Hand, Monday, 4 February 2008 13:47 (sixteen years ago) link

Tyree you caught a pass with your helmet and won me $175.

brownie, Monday, 4 February 2008 14:05 (sixteen years ago) link

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS (only without the $175 ;_;)

jessie monster, Monday, 4 February 2008 15:04 (sixteen years ago) link

how many running plays were there last night? like six?

Tracer Hand, Monday, 4 February 2008 15:08 (sixteen years ago) link

Giants ran quite a bit in the first half. Patriots couldn't get much of a ground game going.

Bundchen likes her wine ♥
