Also, those cliffside cells in the Eyrie are WAY too climb-able on the outside. There should be perfectly smooth stone joinery and about 50' more of sheer wall above instead of some nice brick arches and a convenient rooftop.

i spent the whole episode wondering if that kid was sucking on her real boob or if they made some kind of fake boob

i did think the show did a great job of showing how unstable lysa arryn is and how creepy the eyrie/vale are

says a lot about how ott the whole episode was that nobody's even mentioned the full frontal wang yet

I don't know how I feel about the Door of the Moon or whatever it's called. I liked it being in the wall, more of a head-fuck when it turns out to be a door to no-where.

Definitely the best episode so far, quite possibly because it had the most added scenes. Felt a lot less stiff.

i think part of the reason this ep worked so well was that it pretty much stuck to action in king's landing and the eyrie; brief visit to winterfell, no dothraki stuff, no wall stuff. not that i don't really like the stuff on the wall, but to keep shifting the scene does take some momentum out of each episode.

Yeah i agree. It is a problem in a show with so many characters in disparate locations.

It's interesting that you say that and this is followed up by Treme. Just thinking about how Simon has to force himself to write really tight "anecdote" scenes to pack in all the people and situations he wants to do; Thrones, being all notional period stuff and supposedly needing that much more exposition, has to abbreviate a lot and yet still ends up spending probably far too much time in each set

this really is pretty brutal

aww that's years away. guess i'll have to read the books.

yeah i had to put the book down. i am "processing it."

i guess i'm on board with this now, to the point where i just frustrate my way through the series-prolonging bits of useless exposition by looking forward to the next cool bit of business with tyrion or arya or w/e. that stephen king-style soap opera plotting, where you get a bunch of disparate threads going, and don't really have to advance any of them much, cuz suspense takes over whenever you're away from the most appealing characters. hope this continues long enough to see the current cast and plot threads completely upended.

just finished the third book after marathon reading sesh, goddamn some crazy shit happens
