I re-read all four in like a week recently. Shit is addictive.

I could see if that if you don't work or do something where you can read on the job but otherwise that just seems nuts. I might just be a slower reader though. idk.

i only started reading in earnest a couple days ago, with the biggest chunk getting knocked out today

I'm still noodling through bk 2...I'm not always in the mood to read all the time but I try to read at lunchtimes & bed, afternoon on the weekend. sometimed I'll go full tilt & do a book in a day or 2, but slower pace is my norm lately

This. :\

Didn't care much for this episode tbh for which I had to wait a FULL WEEK to watch so the mounting anticipation might've set me up for a letdown. I usually like the political intrigue stuff but everything kind of felt inert to me, perhaps I'll re-watch the episode in lieu of reading the book.

So I see some threads are coming together. DAMN.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Rebel IMF (Leee), Monday, 23 May 2011 05:02 (twelve years ago) link

Was Dany trying to hatch the dragon egg, or making an omelet, or unconsciously trying to see if she was the Dragon?

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Rebel IMF (Leee), Monday, 23 May 2011 05:08 (twelve years ago) link

hatch, iirc.

Viserys scene in the finale was played perfectly, just how I pictured it.

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 23 May 2011 05:38 (twelve years ago) link

i think she was just bored and wanted to see what would happen

farty f baby (Princess TamTam), Monday, 23 May 2011 05:40 (twelve years ago) link

lol "making an omelet"

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 23 May 2011 05:49 (twelve years ago) link

last time I try to eat whilst watching this (horse-heart sequence...)

Who was the guy who stood up for Tyrion? white dudes in armor all looking the same to me.

Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Monday, 23 May 2011 06:00 (twelve years ago) link

that was Bronn, the mercenary who kicked ass & cracked jokes w/Tyrion on the trip up to the Eyrie. He wasn't really wearing armor, just leather, which is partly how he beat a slower knight in full plate.

farty f baby (Princess TamTam), Monday, 23 May 2011 06:11 (twelve years ago) link

I want to troll this thread every time I open it

Bronn's swordfight was pretty great.

I ate hours before and still almost barfed my cookies with that horse heart scene...also with the bloody mouth I kept thinking of King Diamond, lol http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp201/sharonjoy666/12b42c81.jpg

Gotta say that they've p deftly compressed a lotta stuff without needless exposition

cop a cute abdomen (gbx), Monday, 23 May 2011 16:09 (twelve years ago) link

I haven't watched it yet but now I'm going to make sure I do so before I eat dinner. I'm not very squeamish that sort of "please I'm eating" stuff doesn't generally effect me but this sounds p bad.

I watched next week's episode and now I'm bummed that I have to wait two weeks for a new one. :(

I could see if that if you don't work or do something where you can read on the job but otherwise that just seems nuts. I might just be a slower reader though. idk.

I read the last book in less than a week, but I did have a job where I could sit and read 9-11 hours a day. (I was reading at the rate of 40-50k a day at the time.)

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Monday, 23 May 2011 18:16 (twelve years ago) link

Just watched it and holy shit. When the guy mentioned a crown of gold I had a feeling they would go the route of that Roman Governor.

Also I have no access to the seventh episode at the moment as I'm overseas and without a computer so if we can keep discussion of it until it airs properly that would be awesome. Or else I can just avoid the thread until next week.

Goddamn. After watching 6 and 7 my doubts as a fan of the books have pretty much disappeared.

Number None, Tuesday, 24 May 2011 02:41 (twelve years ago) link

episode 7 was the best one yet imo

farty f baby (Princess TamTam), Tuesday, 24 May 2011 02:43 (twelve years ago) link

I enjoyed Sansa cutting off the Septa just as she was about launch into a story about where she was from. Reckon that was the writers poking a little fun at themselves. Oh and Tyrion's monologue was hilarious.

Number None, Tuesday, 24 May 2011 03:19 (twelve years ago) link

Everything about Tyrion is so great. <3 PD so much in this.
