stannis is king robert baratheon's brother. not renly, the gay one, but the other one. he's stern and tall and got stuck managing an island he doesn't really want. his chief characteristic is that he's not very likeable.

They haven't even cast Stannis yet as far as i know

i was just reading that theyve sent out casting calls for melisandre and brienne, so stannis cant be far away from being cast

One thing I don't get is why rapey young guy is part of the Stark household. Don't want to google it for fear of spoilers.

Theon is a ward, "won" from Stark's defeat of the Greyjoys

Theon (rapey guy) is a hostage in the medieval sense, meaning a family member from a rival house who the Starks are holding onto & treating relatively well to keep the Greyjoys in line.

otm, I cringe in anticipation of spoilers but none yet, so thanks from me also!

it's funny, I didn't pay a lot of attention to Theon when I was reading Book 1, but since the series started airing I'm actually having a much easier time picturing him in Book 2...I think he was really well cast in this.

theon doesn't really do much at all in the first book iirc, aside from occasionally have a bro sesh with robb. and apparently smangs babes.

final (non epilogue) scene of third book is so baller

Episode 7 was the best yet--finally made me take the plunge into reading the book(s).

1. Dany couldn't have been thrilled to hear Drogo promising to rape a bunch of Westeroi.
