uh shakey i wasn't thinking of whatever you thread you're talking about or who started it (maybe i did post on it, i dunno, but i don't remember it either way). my point was that lots and lots of people treat it as a truth bomb these days, so i wasn't referring to any specific example.

there will always be a huge variety of different kinds of rap and that will always be a good thing, i'm just saying the way to deal with or appreciate that is not by coining a bunch of stupid 'witch house'-style marketing terms

otm its basically about advertising the critics / bloggers more than it is about music

tbh i dont think ppl have really been posting much new shit in this thread lately. I've been out of the loop cuz of IRL struggles but

well his overviews have seemed pretty helpfully comprehensive of high profile/worthwhile mixtapes in general, not just what has gotten a lot of thread discussion

idk there hasn't been much compelling rap music in the past few months -- danny brown, i've been meaning to listen to that sen city tape that surfboards big upped but idk
