Flattish land but big hills not too far away; large-scale postwar housing, but old enough to boast a big old church, maybe even a cathedral; photo taken from behind ye olde wall on higher ground, possibly grounds of a castle.

Carlisle?

dayo, Sunday, 4 September 2011 15:52 (twelve years ago) link

No no and no. I love that the authenticity of this photo is debatable. It could easily be Tibet or an off-season amusment park.

ockfen aprilscherz (Ówen P.), Sunday, 4 September 2011 16:21 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah that's got to be a theme park, nowhere that German can exist authentically. I'm saying Japan, the shallow pitch of the roof on the left gives it away (plus who else builds stuff like that?)

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 4 September 2011 20:42 (twelve years ago) link

No, scratch that, it's nonsense. Zooming in produces what looks like a dragon on the clock tower - not typical of Germany iirc. That 'king of hearts' has still got to be a love hotel, though 'tashi exhang' suggests Nepal.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 4 September 2011 20:47 (twelve years ago) link

its defo china or somewhere like that

Ennh, not true. Close but not 'warm'. I'll find another image of same.

Unfortunately you have to pay for a private guide if you want to visit, plus visa costs, ~$200 a day.
