literally my first thought was "how much"

i'm all in on "first" ESP that third verse

that verse reminds me less of young money (the worst) and more of the pack or new boyz or something -- aggressively dumb and simple but delivered w/ a balance of seriousness and irony that allows it to work

think that j.cole/trey songz is kind of a classic tbh

i'm on it is the best thing on that dee 1 tape. he's a pretty good rapper and pulls off the good message christian schtick quite well by not completely saturating his stuff with preaching, but the abundance of exclamation marks on the tracklist makes him sound/look like an over enthusiastic youth-leader. also there's a parental advisory logo on the artwork which is kinda lol.

but yea, what a song. i'm on it is one of the tracks of the year for sure, everything about it is pretty much perfect. love the video too with that slow snake of cars.

that max b 'scream' track i posted in the max b thread has basically not left my ipod. incredible, incredible rap music. a perfect song maybe

I really like both these Dee-1 songs... "The One That Got Away" less so than "I'm On It," but that's one smooth Mannie Fresh beat, and it's has a narrative satisfaction to it that many rappers have a hard time achieving.

Cole World is awful. But that doesn't surprise me. Cole has never connected with me.
