I'm not gonna stick up for the quality journalism of People magazine but Elvis Costello = "bullshit for sad suburban sub-literates" at this point. he is well-known, he's a familiar face, he's been in Austin Powers, knocked up Diana Krall, is always doing middlebrow collabs, putting out albums for the generation that still buys CDs etc.

i seem to remember seeing it on a documentary about queen that i was half watching a month or so ago round at a friend's bit, will drinking a lot of booze. in this version of the story freddie wasn't alone.

maybe it's on tape -- they were in a recording studio

I remember reading this article a while back, lolling and the quotes, and then seeing no. 1 was such out of place. for me, it's either Gallagher on Kaiser Chiefs, or MES on M&S. Grohl on Love looks hilarious too, but only in context of the Courtney's comment that preceedes it.
