Can someone recommend some specific albums with bagpipes + slow drums? The more plodding, the better.

Maybe a search for dirge + bagpipes? There ought to be funereal music for bagpipes lurking out there, since the military has used bagpipes for centuries.

They always play marches, though, and "Amazing Grace."

i have now seen Yoshi Wada perform and his bagpipes were identical (same manufacturer, I asked!) to the semi-professional player named Scott (Forgotten Surname) who is also a priest. It was amazing!! He started with some kind of abrasive bells and then the reed organ (giant harmonium?) came in with the drone (played by son Tashi Wada) and then like magic this magnificent noise starts to grow from the back of the room and Yoshi Wada and this other guy (who was in full regalia btw, Yoshi was not) paced to the front of the room while playing. It sounded totally primordial, like the sound of the beginning of a planet or something. Amazing. I finally feel like I had the satisfying experimental bagpipe experience I was wishing for 5+ years ago.

I was sitting in the front on the floor, and when I turned around to look at the bagpipes as they paced to the front, the audience was full of people with borderline childlike expressions of wonder and happiness on their faces. It was also thunderingly loud.

i am an aficionado of the bagpipe and specifically piobaireachd or ceol mor (solo, slow, long pieces of music based around a theme and variations) but have never really listened to any experimental bagpipe music
