Well, I'm an SFA fan so I don't fit either of those cohorts, but I wasn't in a huge rush to listen to it because "electronic side projects" don't seem like the best investment of time full stop. But this is pretty good. There are several tracks where the Super Furry connection is apparent, but a few, like Krakken, where you would never know. Those latter few are actually my favorites.

I just put on Krakken to test out my assertion and those drums and keys are totally SFA-sounding. Never mind, but I still like it.

"Bowl Me Over" was a great single, perhaps better than the last couple SFA singles. There's one track on the album that begins with the same music as a track on Mwng.I believe this was the fabled SFA techno album that never saw release.

My AMG review -- a nice little album, I should dig it out again.

I really want to hear this, but for all the wrong reasons. :(
I thought that one single was garbage and the cynic in me doesn't believe a WORD of the claims made for this....

Um... YSI?

except Ned's words, which make it sound nowhere even close to Isolee or Ellen Allien(wtf?)...

The single is the only poppy track.

Billy, I think you've just explained the lack of buzz about this record much more succinctly than I did above! (hangs head)

hey... thanks for that youtube link! :)

it does sound... exactly like I'd expect it to have, no offence intended, there seems to be a severe disconnect of sorts between the descriptions/praise coming from SFA fans and those from more (to me) trustworthy, objective sources. They're all saying it's good mind you! but I'll stick with my instincts here (sorry)...

Great album indeed. Nice and twisted. Was totally unaware as to the SFA connection (apart from the obvious title)!

Just got The Aliens album as well, "Astronomy For Dogs" (former beta Band member's new release). Haven't listened to it yet, but looking forward to it.

I put another song from this album up this morning if you feel like having a listen.
