Yesterday, M@tt and Je55e and I ate pupusas in the neighborhood. Then my downstairs neighbor texted to say that everyone in the building smelled gas, and they were going to call Peoples and possibly our gas supply would be cut off. I sprinted home (belly full of pupusas), because I feared that we'd left beans boiling on the stove. Thankfully, that was not the case. As I walked back toward the pupusa restaurant I ran into a very bold skunk. J & M insisted it was a cat, and thankfully were proven wrong before being sprayed. The evening ended when, while driving J to the Belmont bus, I spotted a gentleman sprawled out, not moving, on the grass. Not being roused by J's boisterous yells, we called 911. When I got back from the bus stop, there were 2 cop cars, a firetruck and an ambulance. The. End.

I said it was a cat but then I saw the small sprig of white hairs on its tail. As I said on 77, I chased it for a little bit and it was adorable. I threw a stick at it to see if it would spray (I was not within its range) but then I realized it would be spraying someone's house, which would suck. But then I remembered that God took my sense of smell, so I used it like an atomizer to spray all the Catholics.

I broke down at lunch and picked up the first issue of The Chicagoan, since I saw it in the window of a bookstore I walked by on Printer's Row. Haven't had much of a chance to dig in yet, but it does look pretty nice. It was the history of Siskel & Ebert and the talk with Jeanne Gang that sold me. I'll see if looks like it'll be worth spending $20 on every issue.

huh i was walking in printer's row on my lunch break too, at around 2. maybe we passed by each other. a missed connection.

i've been going on lunch break walks since the weather's been nicer and i'm tired of just walking around in the loop so today i cut south to the weird river view apartment building then east to printer's row then back up into the loop.

I was there about 1:30, so probably not. Yeah, I've been taking increasingly longer lunch walks with the nice weather. Sometimes it makes all the difference in surviving a hectic day.

It's true. I always vow to get outside at least a little bit every day, but I always forget. Then I feel like a mole person when I finally get off work and face the outside world.

it cuts into my reading time but adds to my podcast listening time. though today i listened to the mastered version of the adv@nce b@se album.

Well it helps that I don't have any options for food within my building and I don't bring my lunch, pretty much forcing me out into the wider world if I want to eat.

I access the many options available via pedway like a real mole person.

No grubs and termites for lunch, no mole person cred.

Only two issues a year of The Chicagoan , so not like a crazy investment.

I dressed perfectly this morning... for this afternoon's temperatures. Then I nearly froze while waiting 15 minutes in the shade for a bus at 8 am. ;_;

I basically need a rucksack of wardrobe options with me at all times. It is the only way.

It would need socks, tights, snow boots, galoshes, flats, light scarf, medium scarf, light gloves, medium gloves, hat, umbrella, rain coat, puffy coat, medium coat, and a second pair of socks in case the first ones get wet.
