game of crones (La Lechera), Tuesday, 5 June 2012 15:26 (eleven years ago) link

I'm in. And I'm peer pressuring, too!

Je55e, Tuesday, 5 June 2012 15:53 (eleven years ago) link

I guess I've been partying 20 hours a day for a week so if Chicago ilxors want to take it slow it's cool

mh, Tuesday, 5 June 2012 17:13 (eleven years ago) link

It doesn't have to be a big blow out, just humans talking irl.

game of crones (La Lechera), Tuesday, 5 June 2012 17:25 (eleven years ago) link

If I was there, there would be salt. Bath.

Jeff, Tuesday, 5 June 2012 17:49 (eleven years ago) link

I'm gonna have a blow-out. Everywhere I go is a blow-out.

Hey, visibly annoyed runner that kept telling people to get out of your way, you know where might be a good place to run where you won't have to deal with that? Pretty much anywhere besides the fucking Loop during a weekday lunch hour. Idiot. Why anyone would choose to run through the Loop on a day like today when the gorgeous lakefront path is so close is beyond me.

lil' hip check'll take care of uppity runners in congested spaces

Steve Youngblood (dan m), Tuesday, 5 June 2012 19:29 (eleven years ago) link

That was really tempting. I mean, maybe he was on his way to a more conducive running space, but man, unless you've never ever been in a big city in your life you should know what to expect.

heated debate over derpy hooves (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 5 June 2012 19:32 (eleven years ago) link

lol I think I saw that guy!

mh, Tuesday, 5 June 2012 20:00 (eleven years ago) link

Great to meet you, mh. Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

Never translate Dutch (jaymc), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 01:57 (eleven years ago) link

No problem! I understand the basic need of laundry and LL and Je55e were excellent hosts.

mh, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 05:22 (eleven years ago) link

I felt better about being abandoned for laundry when I learned that you guys had to drive to the laundromat.

in sum: mh is buena gente, I slept until JUST NOW, got some almond croissants in the oven, sup.

game of crones (La Lechera), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 15:05 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah, we went to Bubbleland, at Elston/Grace. I'm not sure if there's a closer laundromat that's open late.

Looks like there'll be no further extension of Iceman Cometh into July (they have a musical about church hats to replace it). So I'll have to settle for Neofuturists, White Sox etc. (unless this Three Sisters coming @ S'wolf gets great reviews)

World Congress of Itch (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 15:40 (eleven years ago) link

every time we pass bubbleland we sing its name to the tune of "Barbara Ann".

xpost

i invented steampunk (askance johnson), Wednesday, 6 June 2012 15:41 (eleven years ago) link

The Human Centipede 2 is not very good.

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 02:37 (eleven years ago) link

I wish that was not the case :/

courtnoodle, Friday, 8 June 2012 02:38 (eleven years ago) link

Haha.

Hello, noodle. It's like you were summoned by the centipede signal.

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 02:41 (eleven years ago) link

It's about a million times better than One for the Money.

Jeff, Friday, 8 June 2012 02:47 (eleven years ago) link

Where and why did you see that?

Katherine Heigl should definitely be a segment.

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 03:00 (eleven years ago) link

Tonight. In Delaware.

Jeff, Friday, 8 June 2012 03:11 (eleven years ago) link

Why? I'm not sure.

Jeff, Friday, 8 June 2012 03:11 (eleven years ago) link

Because the other choice was the Straw Dogs remake and I chose bad "comedy" over bad rape scene.

carl agatha, Friday, 8 June 2012 03:57 (eleven years ago) link

Katherine Heigl should definitely be a segment.

^^^ many LOLs

carl agatha, Friday, 8 June 2012 03:58 (eleven years ago) link

Hey in case anybody was wondering, the answer to the question, "How many episodes of House Hunters can you watch in one day and remain emotionally stable" is "About 11."

carl agatha, Friday, 8 June 2012 04:00 (eleven years ago) link

As if there are only a few theaters in Chicago doing work worth seeing!

Odd Spice (Eazy), Friday, 8 June 2012 05:46 (eleven years ago) link

I saw One for the Money. It was as bad as I expected.

courtnoodle, Friday, 8 June 2012 12:47 (eleven years ago) link

We've had summer hours for three weeks now, but I'll finally be able to take advantage of them and leave early today!

heated debate over derpy hooves (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 8 June 2012 14:12 (eleven years ago) link

As if there are only a few theaters in Chicago doing work worth seeing!

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply such, just eliminating the 'big' stuff. Feel free to recommend.

are you guys ready for RIBFEST?

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 14:39 (eleven years ago) link

I wonder if the ribs are actually any good at RIBFEST? My one visit to Taste of Chicago made me skeptical of food-based festivals.

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 14:41 (eleven years ago) link

Jeff brought home ribs from ribfest last year and they were really good.

carl agatha, Friday, 8 June 2012 14:48 (eleven years ago) link

all i know is that it fucks up parking by our house

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 14:49 (eleven years ago) link

the street is overflowing with greasy rib bones i bet

game of crones (La Lechera), Friday, 8 June 2012 14:51 (eleven years ago) link

Ribfest makes my vegan FB friend who lives nearby very vocally self-righteous. He has suggested that the dummies at Ribfest should try a saladfest instead. Looking forward to this year's rants.

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 15:10 (eleven years ago) link

Yes, our ribfest ribs were good.

Jeff, Friday, 8 June 2012 15:14 (eleven years ago) link

Every day is saladfest.

Steve Youngblood (dan m), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:14 (eleven years ago) link

last year (?) the vegetarian cafe down the street from us had a booth at ribfest with vegan ribs. don't think they're doing it this year though.

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:22 (eleven years ago) link

testing out a tweet with you guys: "when you've had a rib surgically removed so you can give yourself a blowjob, EVERY day is ribfest!"

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:23 (eleven years ago) link

(i'm not actually going to tweet that)

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:23 (eleven years ago) link

(i probably shouldn't have posted it here either. sorry.)

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:23 (eleven years ago) link

Tweet it!

Je55e, Friday, 8 June 2012 15:35 (eleven years ago) link

Somehow I've never been to ribfest, but I'm determined to make this year the year where I attend

i invented steampunk (askance johnson), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:38 (eleven years ago) link

Nick if you tweet it you have to use #ribfest

Steve Youngblood (dan m), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:40 (eleven years ago) link

FINE

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 8 June 2012 15:58 (eleven years ago) link
