dottodot@optimo cool!

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 3 July 2005 10:29 (eighteen years ago) link

we missed you, colin.

stirmonster, you practically made my year with the perfect twenty minute section starting w/the mingling bells of mayer's maps and brutalga square and the 5, 10, 15 minute wait for the main line of dexter to come in.

I should have some pictures of basteroid up on flickr soon enough.

I didn't notice the heat really but the volume level was really strange - it would have perfectly easy to hold a decent conversation in there. in fact, they could have had newsnight review or question time in there. maybe you could book them for the next brwh?

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 15:11 (eighteen years ago) link

spawn o sting looked creepily like his daddy-o
and was equally as non rockin', with an odd chicken pecking head tic as he strummed his plugged-in acoustic guitar. the drummer circulated among the 25-strong crowd afterwards asking people to sign his guest book.mailing list thingie. then the painfully awkward banter-making bassist put them all to shame when he literally got on his knees before ally, begging him to buy a £5 tee-shirt. wow. desperate is not the word. sad, perhaps?
what a gig.

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 16:54 (eighteen years ago) link

An experience, at least.

All eyes on NEDFAP now, I suppose. But before that:

Friday, 8th July - GOODBYE 148 PARTY, 9PM ONWARDS. ALL WELCOME. xx

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:39 (eighteen years ago) link

YES MORE ROFFLES PLEASE

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:43 (eighteen years ago) link

can we have a FAP a week on Friday? or Saturday? what else is happening in two weeks? a separate thread seems a bit excessive...

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:50 (eighteen years ago) link

look here now

I hope I'm able to be around for both nedfap and stevalixfap

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 22:02 (eighteen years ago) link

i kept thinking i was coming over in two weeks not three...stupid me. this is excellent timing with Isolee then - fantastic.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Sunday, 3 July 2005 22:21 (eighteen years ago) link

isolee when? i thought it was july 24th?

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 3 July 2005 22:53 (eighteen years ago) link

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 3 July 2005 22:53 (eighteen years ago) link

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 3 July 2005 22:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Argh, Isolee is the Sunday night before the busiest week of my life. Argh.

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:05 (eighteen years ago) link

Are tickets in advance needed for Isolee/Optimo then?

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:07 (eighteen years ago) link

no.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 00:39 (eighteen years ago) link

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 00:40 (eighteen years ago) link

i think stewart should do a feature on ally and his new facial hair for beard. i definitely think it's been a major influence on dot to dot's new RAWK direction

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:45 (eighteen years ago) link

I quite fancy a drink and a look at Ms Lander in the cellar. Does anyone else? RJG? Ally C? It won't be your local for long.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Alba, when is this? Tonight?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:45 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh yes, just now, I meant.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:47 (eighteen years ago) link

I haven't had my tea, yet, and we are supposed to be packing

I will shout "cook"

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:48 (eighteen years ago) link

I phoned him

he says he hasn't had his tea, yet, either but that we could go for "one"

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:51 (eighteen years ago) link

Neil is at the pictures all night and I am bored. I phoned Cook earlier and he was supposed to be packing when I requested him for a diversion from watching shit telly. I am up for a pint if this is happening (I don't even know what is happening, does it involve Camera Obscura?).

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I think it's a BYOCO party.

I'll pop over to the old 148 ranch and see if I can rouse the troops.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:54 (eighteen years ago) link

I am wearing shorts

Should I move from my house Glasgow-wards and wait for a phone call (I think only Ally has my number?)? Or should I continue watching Coronation Street and being bored? Will someone tell me if something is going on that will relieve my boredom?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:57 (eighteen years ago) link

I think "one" may only mean "two", in this instance, so I don't know how worthwhile an excursion it'd be if it isn't on your way home from work or down the hill from your flat

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 17:59 (eighteen years ago) link

I am going to their decaying house and they are going to eat their tea and then I will try to persuade them that boxes are for squares and they need to have a drink at the Brunswick Cellars, where CL may be barmaiding and shooting us 'ha ha' looks every now then. If this sounds interesting then do join us.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Fucking hell these chocolates are good.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:00 (eighteen years ago) link

oh and big brother is on at ten, so

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:00 (eighteen years ago) link

I have no better options, so I may jump up by teh BC. Please come out as it will be a wasted trip otherwise (I am eating my tea so you have about fifteen minutes to post back if this is the case)

I didn't know CL had a real job. I should get out more.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:03 (eighteen years ago) link

I will come out.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:05 (eighteen years ago) link

I am just miffed because there are three pub quizzes on in Paisley tonight but the mister has gone to the pictures, leaving me with a free evening, and has kidnapped all of my local mates to go with him thereby robbing me of my pub quiz team. bah. I might come out, if I do I will be in the Cellars within the hour.

It sure is a sunny one.

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 11 July 2005 11:11 (eighteen years ago) link

I haven't looked at this thread, for quite a while.

It no longer makes any kind of sense.

Ally C, you should ask Steady Mike to play you his 'wonky' version of 'Sailing' by Christopher Cross, one day.

Peter Stringbender (PJ Miller), Monday, 11 July 2005 11:20 (eighteen years ago) link

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 15 July 2005 16:38 (eighteen years ago) link

I have a carefully planned menu of utterly bog all.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Friday, 15 July 2005 16:41 (eighteen years ago) link

OK here is the skinny

I am moving back to glasgow, provisional upon:

M&S announce 6 new jobs at sauchiehall store on weds

I will transfer there if I can get a job, with adequate hours &c.

so:

I am looking for a) a flat & b) a flatmate:

a) ally c said there was a 'nice' flat available above you, lucy, what can you tell me about it? e-mail? the one here is good

b) RJG said he knew someone who was looking for a flatmate.

so.

I won't know for sure if I can move back in 'till wednesday

and then I can start catering to my two part flat conundrum

hi glasgow

why do you keep saying funny things, cozen?

RJG (RJG), Friday, 15 July 2005 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

peculiar or haha?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 15 July 2005 17:45 (eighteen years ago) link

RJG (RJG), Friday, 15 July 2005 17:47 (eighteen years ago) link

With the kind of timing only Telewest can manage, my email account has been suspended, whatever that means. I am quietly confident that anyone who needs to know will eventually click on this thread, except my cousin in Australia, who is the only person liable to get the hump about me not answering anything.

Peter Stringbender (PJ Miller), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:01 (eighteen years ago) link

Looks like we won't be able to try Glasgow this weekend now :(
