I can't determine its exact species from the video, but is in the family Sparassidae.Likely a huntsman spider. (whistling spider??)Its actions are normal and is trying to burrow.Covering itself is a way to conceal itself.They dig the same way in any sandy environment.Source(s):UC Irvine, entomology
