Peanuts in Coke

Peanuts in coke were def a thing with certain v. Southern ladies when I lived in Alabama. The same ladies that would "take a powder" for a headache, probably with peanuts in coke.

OK, I just did this. Weird but enjoyable. I can endorse this.

Ok I don't get the logistics. You drink the salty coke and then at the end you eat the soggy nuts? Or you just kind of do both at once? Do they float?

I remember reading some short story or children's novel or something where a character did this and I was just perplexed. I was fixated on it for years and years and sometimes I'd think about doing it. I can't imagine the end result is anything but salty/flat/greasy coke and slimy peanuts (goobery goobers).

I think this is a line from "Stand By Your Peanuts and Coke"

trying this now: mexican coke in a glass bottle, honey roasted peanuts (which was all they had in a small bag).

This seems like the perfect airline gambit, if you'd accept a plastic cup as a bottle substitute

the only snag i hit was that the mexicoke bottle has a very narrow neck and it was hard to pour the peanuts in.

Putting peanut M&Ms in the toaster

southwest gives peanuts all the time

I always get pretzels on my Southwest flights (of course I only fly about once every two or three years).

I don't remember when the hell I would have done this but I have the memory of having peanuts in coke as a kid! Maybe at a friend's place?

I wonder if peanuts in a beer would be good.

Yeah, one of my uncles was a big fan of Oly with a good shake of salt in the bottle. That sounds gross to me, but who knows -- I've never tried it.

i want to do this again. just had some salted pretzels with my coke zero and remembered how good the cokey-salty combo is.
