Extra innings tonight, doubleheader tomorrow. The Sunday game is going to look like Zombieland.

Nationals starters have a combined 1.01 ERA in the last 6 games! Relievers at 3.46 during the same stretch which certainly isn't bad but I wish Johnson would let pitchers throw complete games more often, I get nervous once the bullpen warms up.

i've been bandwagoning these guys since 2008 for some godawful reason but it's paying off now

ciderpress, Thursday, 30 August 2012 14:31 (eleven years ago) link

I did not expect to suddenly find myself watching all these baseball games when I returned to DC but it's pretty compelling watching these dudes win all the time. And Ross Detwiler is cuet

12 home runs in the last 2 games with a couple innings left to play

Difference between the lowest and highest WHIP of their five primary starters (23-29 GS): .08

I almost always will watch these guys if they're on tv.

16-1. something, huh?

Mordy, Friday, 21 September 2012 02:06 (eleven years ago) link

My NBC programming was interrupted with the red banner on the screen normally reserved for severe weather warnings to tell me they clinched.

I have never lived anywhere in the US with a successful sport franchise until now so I'm excited.

Legendary General Cypher Raige (Gukbe), Friday, 21 September 2012 02:11 (eleven years ago) link

Sure, I have my allegiance to the Giants and the Pirates but I would be genuinely excited for a "Capital" World Series.

Mordy, don't be ruining other teams threads, or becoming as big a shit as Eisbaer

First playoff baseball in Washington since 1933; Senators finished seven games ahead of the Yankees in Ruth's next-to-last season in New York.

They should hire Bill Murray to participate as FDR for the playoffs.

We're at the point where the Nats will def sell out their LDS games, right? Otherwise I'd be tempted to hitch a ride down (pref while on my prescrip drugs).

kizz my hairy irish azz (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 4 October 2012 16:29 (eleven years ago) link

They're selling standing-only tickets so I imagine they are selling out. Which only goes to show how much a town only cares about a winner.
