DOESN'T THAT SEEM ODD TO YOU?
Not as odd as the fact that the direction of the shadows behind "DOESN'T THAT SEEM ODD TO YOU?" are in a visibly different orientation than those behind "FAT, POOR, AND STUPID," proving beyond doubt that this is not a legitimate Facebook meme but a fake Facebook meme photoshopped together by our nation's enemies!

i know a few libertarians who are upper middle class. but again, that prob says more about the circles i move in than a hard-and-fast rule about the socioeconomic status of libertarians.

but i can get why some poors fancy themselves libertarians -- they're sort of the same species as the low-level grunts who idolize Ayn Rand and fancy themselves (future) John Galts.

If one were to compile a list of the most fanatically anti-reason philosophers since the Renaissance, almost every top figure--Kant, Hegel, Marx, Schopenhauer, Heidegger--would turn out to be German. This is not to say that German culture produced evil philosophers. Just the reverse: Germany's evil philosophers produced an evil culture.

While I do not agree with all that is in this book, I thought it a most important bookdealing with a subject that has shaken the soul of mankind. Certainly it has shakenmine to the core and I've shed many tears over it. I felt Dr. Peikoff most qualifiedto author such a book given his impeccable credentials. He has to be strong to survivethe merciless criticism that has been aimed at him. I feel one should disagree withhis ideas, not try to, frankly, destroy his image in people's minds.
I thought the heart of the book was a paragraph on page 160 beginning "This is howphilosophy shapes...". I thought the most powerful lines were on pages 227-228.I was shocked by the power and beauty of the passages. I couldn't help thinking, what apoet he would make. I would recommend this book to the thoughtful reader concerned withthe state of the world today.
