fwiw, by my "compare the carnage" comment i meant the author needing to shoehorn in the Aurora shooting. the Chicago stats are powerful enough to speak on their own, but i suppose people needs hooks to get people to care.

That's even more brutal when you consider that those shootings are heavily concentrated in a handful of Chicago neighborhoods. PTSD is a real, daily issue for Chicagoans who live there.

I'm going to monks after work today if anyone wants to join me. they're having a Bourbon County Stout event. No idea what vintages/varieties they'll have, but it's all good. Will probably be crowded though.

I never had any Bis albums, but I had a couple of friends in college who were into them.

Bis were very popular at my college radio station but I can't remember what they sound like.

10/9/2004 never forget

Time is so strange. I was talking to my 16 year old niece when I was in Cape Cod and I started thinking that things that I perceive as being relatively recent happened when she was like six years old.

We were also talking about the Beastie Boys and I realized i stopped caring about them before she was born.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of both C@n@st@ and T@ngerin3 Arts Gr0up.

It bothers me when there are dates I can't verify. Since late 2004, most events of any significance in my life have been documented by emails, and then by ILX and FB. But I cant find emails about the move date.

I so wish I could find my email accounts from 1997-2004.

Surely Jeff has detailed logs of the move.

I used to keep very detailed journals, and ive resumed doing them, but I forget so much and I wish that everything I did was recorded automatically. Hopefully Obama will work on that in his 2nd term.

This is basically why I became lax about updating my spreadsheet of every movie I've seen. I'll go months without logging anything b/c I can usually put it together later with a combination of e-mail, ILX, and my Netflix account info.

I think about this sometimes, too. After I switched from Hotmail to Gmail in 2004, I was trying to archive or import all my old e-mail, and I accidentally deleted it instead. :/

Xp but I want to make my whole life searchable. I can't tell you how often I've wanted to Ctrl+F an event. Tom_s and I were JUST wishing we could replay a certain event to figure out what happened.
