i just saw the star wars DNC/RNC meme on my wall and the person who posted it is generally a libertarian nerd type who in past conversations sympathized more with republican party (but was libertarian independent type). i think it's interesting if this kind of meme lets them express pro dem sentiments when they might otherwise feel uncomfortable doing so.
