You know, Juan's seeming like the nicest dude ever has made it really hard for me to come to terms with how frustrating this defense has been, but after this week's "yeah, we're kinda dominating Calvin Johnson TOO much, let's mix it up a bit so he doesn't get too comfortable being dominated", I think it's time for a change. So sick of watching this defense play well for three quarters and then just shut the fuck down for the 4th.

I predict that if Kelly gets the organization, assistant coaches and players to buy into his system enthusiastically, you'll see some damned exciting football next season. The biggest resistance may come from older veteran players with a lot of mileage on their bodies, but who still are starters. The new pace is really going to challenge them.

He says that he's a big fan of Foles and he's really singing his praises.

They asked him about Vick. He gave a non-answer. I'm sure Vick is done in Philly.

Cortes did burn his boats. Other than the fact that Cortes had all the tender-hearted humanity of Atilla the Hun, I'm not sure how acknowleging an historic fact is especially insensitive in this instance.

i saw that good brown piece on grantland. if kelly came into the league and only had 1 trick then he would be back out pdq, so i think the selection was v positive for eagles fans. we'll see if he can win nfl games, but he at least seems to have the right kind of intent and ambition about him.

Kelly has thought about and implemented his offensive system for over a decade. He is very definite about what he wants and why. He isn't just working a gimmick. If anything, he's taken a basketful of gimmicks other people invented and saw how to integrate them. Give him three years to get his personnel adjusted to his system and we'll see if it wins against NFL defensive schemes.
