Censoring the 5G stuff seems weird though, is it actively harmful if some people are into that?

It's not really about harm, just the perception of being responsive to government/public concerns. I assume they'll have decided that the cost to them of closing that stuff down is worth it to avoid unwanted scrutiny from legislators.
