I am thinking Lansdowne. Who's going, and can I watch the Celtic game?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 16:36 (eighteen years ago) link

I wish I was in the pub. Ailsa, I hope to leave work at 9 so I'll be there by 9.30. Text Ally - he was talking about going for 7.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 16:37 (eighteen years ago) link

"If it doesn't sell out i'll prob go and just buy tickets from monorail next time i'm in glasgow."

Fair enough. Monorail are doing them for £16 inc booking fee. God bless Monorail.

Stew (stew s), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 16:41 (eighteen years ago) link

I am off next thursday and friday!

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 16:49 (eighteen years ago) link

... and I will live in glasgow by then!

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 16:51 (eighteen years ago) link

I heard, last night, that the SS lives on lansdowne crescent.

this will mean nothing, to anyone, except, perhaps, colin (by SS, I mean the canadian fanny from strathy).

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 17:00 (eighteen years ago) link

Hey, I am off next Friday as well, if you mean the 5th!

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 17:21 (eighteen years ago) link

I might email dep and ask him to keep me one then stew.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 17:56 (eighteen years ago) link

Ailsa is on her own in the pub. This is dreadful. I thought Glasgow had learned how to do FAPs. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to leave work early and go rescue her, what a shame.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 18:00 (eighteen years ago) link

And Celtic are losing 1-0. She won't be very happy.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 18:12 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm afraid I am too poor and sniffly to go to the Landsdowne. Have fun Glasgow.

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 18:26 (eighteen years ago) link

um thats 4-0 celtic are losing now. Wouldn't want to be in Glasgow tonight.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 18:59 (eighteen years ago) link

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 19:02 (eighteen years ago) link

RJG i don't know a canadian SS i don't think.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 19:12 (eighteen years ago) link

I think he's canadian, anyway.

people do impressions of him like impressions of loyd grossman.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:11 (eighteen years ago) link

um thats 4-0 celtic are losing now

I needed Glasgow sympathy tonight.

Thanks to those that didn't laugh, and to Onimo for support via text message.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 22:44 (eighteen years ago) link

I didn't laugh!
I only laugh when Motherwell Or Airdrie lose 5-0.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 23:19 (eighteen years ago) link

I eventually laughed. When the Guinness had dulled the pain.

Motherwell robbed us of our title. They are, er, not the sort of team that exist in my mind. Unlike Airdrie, who don't even really exist at all.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 23:22 (eighteen years ago) link

It was amazing how each time a goal went in the commentators kept saying how thats they still thought celtic could win at parkhead. "now celtic need to score five " "now celtic need six"

That team looked like they could score everytime they went up the park.
And I can't believe that miss from two yards. And I'm an accies fan who has witnessed some seriously bad strikers over the years!

And correction. I laugh everytime Motherwell & Airdrie lose.

Celtics 1st game is Motherwell away this weekend isn't it?

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 23:30 (eighteen years ago) link

Poor Ailsa.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 28 July 2005 07:03 (eighteen years ago) link

Messages of support? I thought they were more like "Yer right ailsa this is fucking abysmal!" - I suppose that counts as empathy :-P

I came into work this morning to face a slagging from the Bluenoses - the first person I spoke to was my boss - "Sorry Gerry, you didn't get a bonus." - way to cheer me the fuck up boss!

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 28 July 2005 09:54 (eighteen years ago) link

i bumped into my hoops-mad mate tony in the canteen this morning. he looked a) hungover and b) crushed, and was almost crying into his toast. apparently he started getting abusive texts from a friend in australia the second the match was over. (if you come to mono on saturday, ailsa, you can form a small support group with him.)

it's at times like this i give thanks that i care not an iota of a fuck about teh football :)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 28 July 2005 10:22 (eighteen years ago) link

(x-post)

"Gerroff, you bugger!"

"I'll give you a fucking deadleg in a minute!"

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 28 July 2005 11:18 (eighteen years ago) link

OK, who is going to help me solve the mystery of my mystery Bowlie crush? Dahlin, is this you up to no good?

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:43 (eighteen years ago) link

Bowlie was 6 years ago, Mädchen. It's time to move on.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:46 (eighteen years ago) link

ooooh, what Bowlie crush?

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:04 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't know if this is the appropriate thread or not but i'll ask anyway since I introduced myself on this thread.

What sort of music are you all into?

My mates think i like a lot of crap

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:13 (eighteen years ago) link

Wow, that is A LOT.

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Hello Kerr!

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:23 (eighteen years ago) link

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 28 July 2005 20:21 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't tend to wear my chart on my sleeve

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:06 (eighteen years ago) link

didn't you already introduce yourself kerr boy?
and madchen, i know not to what you refer! and why do you assume i'd be up to no good??? and bowlie! i avoid! hmmmmm

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I did , but I didnt mention any music. Since i'm boring and only interested in music ;) I thought i'd ask what people were into and I didn't want to start one of those introduction threads.

Instead I made a crap joke that I mustve met Cathy before because she agreed I liked a LOT of crap hehe.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Thursday, 28 July 2005 22:15 (eighteen years ago) link

watch it this morning!

I liked your dentist a lot nick, though perhaps a touch exhorbitant.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 05:25 (eighteen years ago) link

I thought NHS rates were standard. Or did you "go private"?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 05:30 (eighteen years ago) link

he said he doesn't do much NHS work anymore "for adults". I had the tooth dealt on the NHS because it was an emergency, but the course of seven fillings I need and have needed for 2 years is going to cost me £600 if I go with him (£200 if I go NHS, with his partner paul.)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 05:32 (eighteen years ago) link

I thought he was married!

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:13 (eighteen years ago) link

by habit & repute

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh, is Paul the young (idealist?) guy? I had him for my last check-up.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:50 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't know; I saw billy

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:50 (eighteen years ago) link

I am willing to see an idealist!

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:51 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm not sure that idealism and dentistry mix.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:55 (eighteen years ago) link

I registered with Bowlie about three years ago to do some sneaky club promotion and haven't been on it since. Now I get an email saying somebody has a crush on me! Maybe they just fancy the memory of my youth. I certainly do.
