It was posted to a public twitter feed. My name was used. I mentioned it here at this time:

I retweeted it. At that time the feed was taken private and I guess that broke the retweet because it disappeared. When the twitter account came back up, the message was gone. A few days later this was posted:

Let that post be the permanent record ^ I don't want to have to continue to defend myself but it has gotten to the point where I understand someone who wants to write this whole thing off as 'everyone behaving badly.' That is not the case, however. I argued with WCC in a thread about pushing buttons and have since been libeled by her on twitter and ilx. For the record, I still don't hate her. I'm just really upset about this entire thing and I think the real problem is a total failure of modding.

Mordy, those tweets were not the original posts calling you a mansplainer. They happened much later whilst you were having a go at WCC concurrently in an ILX thread. You posted that screengrab at the time.

I don't use twitter frequently and did not know that if you retweet something and that person goes private, the retweet is broken. Otherwise I would have screengrabbed and copy/pasted instead of retweeting. I also didn't realize at the time that the version of the events would be contested in order to obscure exactly who brought it off-board and when. xp

Once upon a time, many years ago, an ilxor suggested that I, and another ilXor, were comparable to the BNP, on their blog, using our real names. I only found out about this when the other liabled ilXor told me a couple of weeks later. That, I would have wanted them banned for, if they hadn't pretty much already fucked off already.

I use twitter the same way lots of people do - to externalise every passing thought that goes through my head over the course of a day.

Mostly, those thoughts are about Cornish grammar or drawings of sea arches or photos of dirty dronerock boys, but also rants about argh, OMG I hate the First Train Group so much or how terrible it is when my boss's idiot son mucks up a whole bunch of work I've just done, or some stupid politician and also, if an internet messageboard is annoying me at that moment. Stream of consciousness involves a whole bunch of different stuff, all going on at once. And most people who follow me on twitter are interested in Cornish grammar or Aphex twin records or ranting about politics, and we talk about it and commiserate and it's fine.

But when someone decides they want to follow me with the *sole purpose* of waiting for those occasional tweets where I mention ILX - who doesn't talk to me about my interests or @ me to even say hi, is not interested in the 95% of my tweets that is not about ILX, they are just looking for things to take out of context, and then immediately dash back to ILX to SHARE WITH THE WHOLE CLASS, omg, look at this ~DRAMA~ I have dug up!

Where is the drama in this situation? Me, for ranting about ILX in the same breath as ranting about First Train Group and Cameron and WTF is up with Thom Yorke's hair and my god this bus driver on the 109 is a cowboy? Or is the shitty move the person who goes digging, looking for something to get offended about (because I really have a hard time believing that e.g. Lagoon, who posted my twitter this afternoon, is interested in Cornish politics or Radiohead gifs) and goes running back to score brownie points?

If you want to be my actual friend on twitter, fine, talk to me. If you just want to rubberneck on the "crazy" and clutch your pearls about the drama you are salivating at the idea of catching, you're the dick in this situation. Not me.

And you know what? I'm going to go and screen grab the original tweet, which is still there, in the context of the stream, with the time and date on it. On Friday. Mordy's name is not in it. I did not name Mordy until Monday, after this shit blew up.
