what's a good price for an original VU & Nico LP (stereo) -- banana is intact (just a cut right under the stem) -- plays VG (crackly)?

$50? $60? then look for a clean bananaless copy, sell the bananaless cover w the VG record for $20 or something, and BAM you gotta tight keeper copy.

how do i tell if the sealed bare knuckles OST i have is orig or reissue?
i cannot find this info on da internet. at first i just assumed it was orig cuz i didn't realize a bootleg existed. but now i think it's prob the bootleg. but i have no idea.

what about these 4 lomax ballad hunter library of congress records i have. do i just slap 20 bucks on them or should i ebay? none for sale on ebay which is a good sign.

those ballad hunter records are rare but i don't think they're particularly desirable.. i bought my complete set for $50.

ended up cracking the seal on the bare knuckles LP. inner sleeve and label both giveaways that it's the reissue. oh well.

anthems in eden by Shirley and dolly Collins: $25 a fair price? I spotted a copy at a nearby shop.

seems fair to me! i think i paid around $20 for mine. great record.

it's really not something that turns up very often, in my experience. still need a copy of "love, death and the lady."

oh god i just felt my heart squeeze a little -- there are copies of either of those floating around out there? would buy in an instant!!

they both got US pressings on Harvest!

but they didn't sell very well, i guess, and i don't see 'em very often. i've seen anthems in eden several times but love/death neeevvvver. i think my buddy has one maybe..

yeah but i have never seen either -- i just can't imagine walking away from anthems in eden regardless of price or reissue status. would buy in an instant!! it's one of my favorites.

did you ever get around to reading shirley's book, "america across the water"? i think you'd love it.

also it looks like i was wrong abt love death and the lady.. no US pressing on that one. there was a reissue by BGO though. but also an import.

Yknow speaking of price checks, I just came upon a copy of an Early Music Consort of London record (w David Munrow) that was still shrink wrapped and priced at $2?! It's Pleasures of the Royal Court. Whaaaaa?

that's not terribly underpriced, really. there are a lot of 'early music' records out there and not too many people collecting that stuff. you can get tons of similar stuff on the Music Heritage Society label for just a few bucks.

Ahaaaaa...all the better for me, then! I got The Art of the Netherlands box for like $6 not too long ago.

skott you should really check out my guys at YESTERDAY'S NEWS in Riverside, RI sometime. crazy dude who runs an antique store but also has tons of record, most of which are $1. and he gives you bulk discounts on top of that. hit or miss, but if you get to him at the right time there are lots of gems. i bought a bunch of 'fake latin' records. cha cha, mambo stuff. mancini goes latin.

i need to go to lots of places but i never have time to go anywhere. and i always have too much to handle for little old me. but i like going places in theory.

boobies have saved the $$$ value of many a terrible record.

yeah i don't actually know if its the cheesecake factor with that record. might just be a known audiophile thing. it did sound very nice. good record all around.

It's autographed by Tina and is a 1970s female vocal/soft rock album with some grooves and covers and sample-able moments on keys. There is no discogs page, or popsike or anything. Only hits online are asking $150 but no other info. I kno ppl collect shit like this and get boned up on private press stuff. Any ideas? "
