I wonder why the 7 isn't running from queensborough plaza to flushing? I think I'll try and bike it tomorrow--even reverse commute, I'm not sure about the buses.

With schools out, the libraries are going to be packed with kids (if they somehow find out we're open--ssshhhh).

Haha, me too. And why are they promising homework help? There's no school so there shouldn't be too much homework and we are no doubt going to be short staffed.

you should give them the wrong answers as revenge

I do that sometimes by mistake, and then the next day they come to me and reproach me and tell me that its my fault that they got their homework wrong . . . If I wanted to spend my afternoons doing kids' homework for them, I would have had my own kids. At least then their perfect answers would reflect well upon me.

Got on the F at 71st Ave with no problem a little before 7am. It filled up on the way (running local) but it really wasn't bad. More worried about getting home -- thinking about even possibly walking all the way to 34th/HS just to make sure I get on.

people go to ridiculous lengths just to show up at work when I'd guess at least a good portion of these people's bosses would understand if they stayed home

My boss isn't going in, so....

Had a lovely bike ride to work this morning. My boss encouraged my coworker to try to make it in (against my better judgment) from South Brooklyn. After 2 hours, he had made it to the Brooklyn Museum (not sure how that's even possible that it was that slow). I told him to go back home.

At Roosevelt Ave you have to wait upstairs before you are allowed to go through the turnstile down to the platform. It's like trying to get into a trendy nightclub, only instead of the velvet rope there is a twisted strand of crime scene tape.

all the nightclubs I go to use crime scene tape

I took the N from herald sq to qbp and walked back to sunnyside. I got a seat but the N was def crush load at and after times sq.

going to work it was crowded but not crush load, so I was surprised at the difference. maybe a lot of people didn't even know the subway was running this morning but took it on the way back.

Only report is I went about 5 to Roosevelt to check it out and the people all of a sudden started piling up behind the turnstile. The authorities said something about "stopping" for a while, it wasn't clear whether this meant no trains or full platforms.

Weird thing is it if you didn't know ant better it looked like people lining up for a funicular

I think I remember those 'nightclub' lines from the short transit strike.

I do not go to ridiculous lengths just to show up at work, esp when bldg is closed.

MTA saying 4-5-6-F tunnels are 'close' to operational... all they'll need is power!

Is there some kind of partial E service? On the F tonight at Roosevelt Ave the train conductor said "transfer for the E train" but maybe that was out of habit

you can walk to the station and keep walking if it looks like a mess

It should be manageable at this time of day, just allow at least double the time you'd normally allow. My F commute took about an hour today to do what normally takes maybe 25 minutes. Going back last night around 8:30 pm was a breeze though, even got a seat.

My corny dad joke was to say "do you know if the 930 show is sold out?". By making that joke I was actually meta trolling life itself

metro north is free so I saved 20 bucks

the bus lines outside grand central were pretty crazy.

The line moved and the cops did a creditable job of keeping things safe and organized. I almost wanted to hug the cops that were stuck underground at the miserable 63/lex station all day

I feel the most for cops who had to stand in the cold all over Lower Manhattan setting flares and directing traffic in the pitch dark. It's cold and windy down there! Flares are awesome, though.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I think it's true! 10 minute wait between trains but I'll take it!
