god this Louis Lincoln sketch was amazing

i've grown accustomed to her face tat (m bison), Sunday, 4 November 2012 03:56 (eleven years ago) link

^^ totally killed me

Infamous dickbiscuits (silby), Sunday, 4 November 2012 03:58 (eleven years ago) link

tuning in just for Louis over here btw, usually SNL leaves me cold

Infamous dickbiscuits (silby), Sunday, 4 November 2012 03:59 (eleven years ago) link

the youngest wahlberg brother teamed up with rob lowe's band from st elmo's fire and now they're attacking my ears

turds (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 4 November 2012 04:10 (eleven years ago) link

I've never heard Fun before but they sound like Glass Tiger.

This Is Not An ILX Username (LaMonte), Sunday, 4 November 2012 04:11 (eleven years ago) link

lil wahlberg looked coked up as fuck

i've grown accustomed to her face tat (m bison), Sunday, 4 November 2012 04:11 (eleven years ago) link

girl you wish you hadn't started a conversation with is still good, at least.

also yeah lincoln was good.

s.clover, Sunday, 4 November 2012 04:26 (eleven years ago) link

"lincoln" was kinda legendary

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 4 November 2012 04:27 (eleven years ago) link

man there's like what six segments on this show? kind of weak sauce

Infamous dickbiscuits (silby), Sunday, 4 November 2012 05:01 (eleven years ago) link

the closing sketch was finally solid and fitting to the host w/o just being a riff on his show. i'm really fond of the bar closing genre of sketches actually. tina fey's tiny hooker sketch is still hilarious to me.

s.clover, Sunday, 4 November 2012 05:05 (eleven years ago) link

The Viking horn going wasn't funny at all.

This Is Not An ILX Username (LaMonte), Sunday, 4 November 2012 05:07 (eleven years ago) link

Kind of liked the Viking horn! Reminded me of early Woody Allen, in a way.

Sandy Denny Real Estate (jaymc), Sunday, 4 November 2012 05:13 (eleven years ago) link

Viking horn wasn't funny but wasn't actively bad. Hotel kind of a non-sketch. Lincoln and that final bar sketch were the only real keepers, though Fox and Friends is always worth something.

Gukbe, Sunday, 4 November 2012 05:15 (eleven years ago) link

I liked the Viking horn thing but that genre of sketch, fantasy/sci-fi/occult/whatever characters being just regular dudes is getting real long in the tooth.

Fun apparently raided grandpa's closet and also sucked.

I don't watch much SNL through the year, but I try to watch through Weekend Update during an election year. The Lincoln sketch was great--surreal enough that I'd have a hard time to describing it to someone. First time I've seen the woman-you-avoid-at-a-party, and that ought to go into a 2012 time capsule. (Was going to allude to someone I know who she reminded me of, but I don't think I will.) I really like Sudeikis's Romney. It's not even close to an impression, but his Andy Hardy cheerfulness kills me. Loved when he took the can of soup back.

Waiting for the day when woman you met at a party meets drunk uncle.

dan selzer, Sunday, 4 November 2012 14:59 (eleven years ago) link

I was thinking about that last night. Very similar characters.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 4 November 2012 15:24 (eleven years ago) link

nicholas fehn should be there too

mizzell, Sunday, 4 November 2012 15:58 (eleven years ago) link

so glad silby is here to be the "I havent watched SNL since 1986 is this STILL ON is it ALWAYS THIS BAD" that every message board has

Mr. Zone A (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 4 November 2012 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

hotel sketch was like a Monty Python sketch totally beamed in from another era

Mr. Zone A (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 4 November 2012 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

^^ I agree with that, also I wasn't alive in 1986!

Infamous dickbiscuits (silby), Sunday, 4 November 2012 17:47 (eleven years ago) link

About the only casualty from Tuesday night I will miss:

clemenza, Saturday, 10 November 2012 14:55 (eleven years ago) link

I'd like to think there's going to be some kind of Mitt sendoff tonight.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 10 November 2012 16:03 (eleven years ago) link

I think it'd be hilarious if they just kept Mitt Romney on and made him a reoccurring character.

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 10 November 2012 16:06 (eleven years ago) link

Wasn't crazy about Sudekis' impression during the primaries, but the moments starting at 2:12 won me over this fall.

My favourite was the opening show this season, where they'd cut from Obama to his "secret weapon," and you'd get Romney singing "Old MacDonald" at a town hall. It was a week or two before the first debate, when everything was going wrong for Romney. I can't find the clip on YouTube.

clemenza, Saturday, 10 November 2012 16:30 (eleven years ago) link

Romney hi-fiving dude's head was fantastic

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:13 (eleven years ago) link

I kinda liked it actually, but I can't remember SNL ever doing anything like that before

Panaïs Pnin (The Yellow Kid), Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:14 (eleven years ago) link

pretty sure i made that video at Six Flags Georgia on my 8th grade trip back in 1996, but the song was by Offspring and there might have been a rocket ship.

Gukbe, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:18 (eleven years ago) link

Kanye had a weird set up for her performance last time too, but iirc it wasn't green screen.

My wish for a whole 'Ellen' sketch came true!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:39 (eleven years ago) link

*his

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:40 (eleven years ago) link

the impersonation is good, but they really don't know what to do with it.

s.clover, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:46 (eleven years ago) link

Was I the only one nervously anticipating Chris Brown walking out during that second performance? I just know that douche is backstage somewhere.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:55 (eleven years ago) link

So when they run a pre-recorded fake ad as the final sketch, does that mean they ran out of time?

Gukbe, Sunday, 11 November 2012 05:59 (eleven years ago) link

i died @ the mcdonalds diss sketch

johnny crunch, Sunday, 11 November 2012 06:08 (eleven years ago) link

The featured ladies are sure getting a lot of screen time lately. Show needs a bit more Nasim and Vanessa.

Michael F Gill, Sunday, 11 November 2012 06:13 (eleven years ago) link

Not having ever watched Homeland, that sketch was pretty much the impression I have of the show. It wasn't all that far off, was it?

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 November 2012 06:27 (eleven years ago) link

Can't wait for Rhianna's star turn in Tron 2: Ancient Greek Adventure.

5-Hour Enmity (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Sunday, 11 November 2012 06:47 (eleven years ago) link

Rhianna worked the greenscreen well, but she can't match Insane Clown Posse.

pplains, Sunday, 11 November 2012 06:56 (eleven years ago) link

i had just watched homeland s1e1 earlier today and understood 98% of that parody & im not worried abt spoilers
